Hello. It's nice that you caught the fabrication. Really. I never intended the thing to become so great. It was something I dreamt up when I was a loser, a social outcast, and fuck me, it was nice to have a bit of release even though I knew things were fake. I attempted to curtail it once in a while, but I couldn't. That's because I had become attached to you guys. You had made me feel accepted.

Things are better for me now, so it's a good thing that I didn't have to break this myself. I'm sure finding out about this a lot of work, so thanks whoever that was.

This may not mean anything to you. If it doesn't, I sincerely apologise. I'll do so anyway, in fact. You guys were fucking great.

I'm torn between spamming "cool story bro" in your thread and deleting the forums forever. Not sure which will occur.

It's an utter horror to subject you all to something like this, and I really feel terrible about it. I hope you can at least partially understand what was occurring in my head when I dreamed this up. It's fucked up, I know.

Haha, d'you mean my comments on IRC? I'm not sure there's an impersonal way to reveal someone's true identity. It's not like I put a big post on the forums about it or something.

It's good to hear you're sticking around, anyway. Don't think I bear you any ill will or think you're any less than a cool person who did something kind of shitty but fairly understandable.

I'm more impressed that nobody was able to catch it, for a whole five years running. Any amount of malice I'd bear towards you is easily overwhelmed by the fact that--despite how frequently you used the community and all of the projects you helped run in--no one could really figure out your ruse.

Just know that I'm still on for Two Dave Tuesdays. Assuming either of us is named Dave.
