Can't you believe it?
4 years! This month marks my 4th year into this community.
Now this ain't much of an accomplishment nor an achievement, but this is the time of the year where i remind myself of the good (but mostly bad) times Ive spent with you guys.
Remember the first year? I, the 11 year old queer who knew nothing about the internet and less about putting spaces after each sentence? Those times may have developed me some haters, but most of you knew that i could be a potentially cool guy in the community (unless I'm mistaken :V). Oh, sure, not even 6 months in here and I get IP banned after many spam/troll posts. But i had one chance to correct my mistakes.
That's where my activity in the IRC started to rose.
I was banned from the IRC shortly after my troll attempt when Atramentis' whole "Death" topic was fresh out of the oven. I kept going back until i saw that i was unbanned. Thankfully, I knew that i shouldn't screw up this time.
Oh, sure, I still was annoying, mostly KAlex hated me for using chatzilla. But I started to know a little bit more about the general rules of the Internet. My IQ slightly rose and eventually, I started to get accepted by some of you. And if I remember correctly, I was unbanned from the forums before i even knew it. Nobody told me, I just found out myself.
After that, I was warned only Twice in my second chance.
Then i decided to leave the community due to getting bored and all, then came back, then left again. It was like short breaks of legal fun drugs. No matter how i resist, I manage to come back for some more.
So guys, 4 years of Canadian Goodness and still kicking, but for how long?

Four years is a really fucking long time to spend on one website (and one game). Let's have an orgy of sadness/nostalgia.

Mysterypea, have you been on this community in the last year? Please do not make this thread.

While I am quite pleased at you for surviving four years, Mysterypea, this does seem like more of an IRC-related realisation, and something that would normally be discussed there. Having it here seems like you're labelling yourself as one thing super-important in this community; as such, I really can see where Slappy is coming from.SlappyMcGee wrote:Mysterypea, have you been on this community in the last year? Most people just let the years and months drag by. I certainly couldn't list my join date off the top of my head (I'm not even sure which year it was - either 2005 or 2006), and I know that many of the other mods here couldn't either. So, while I do love a bit of nostalgia, it all seems somewhat nugatory.

But Mysterypea is the most important.Lenny wrote:While I am quite pleased at you for surviving four years, Mysterypea, this does seem like more of an IRC-related realisation, and something that would normally be discussed there. Real Post
Weren't we just talking about how there were tons of useless topics here? If you want to come back to the community, no matter how important you are, just use the Leavers and Returnees thread. People will still notice you're back, and hey, it's a pinned topic, too!
EDIT: Wait, why is L&R not pinned? Very strange.
EDIT2: Actually, self, it is. It's in the Pie Forum.

This will be my 6th year now. O_o
It's a little strange actually, being here so long that you have actually seen someone mature through the years. I remember how you used to be, mysterypea, so I do hope that you have grown up a bit now. This is a cool little place, and everything runs a lot smoother when we are all getting along and not having to throw warnings and bans around.

Damn, I joined November '06, and I'm still in that phase where everybody knows you but nobody likes you. :/ I'm surprised I lasted this long, honestly, and I'm glad you did. Grats.

Everybody likes you, spoon. One effective way of getting people to like you is to have a consistent nickname, mind.

I can't decide if it's ironic or not that I feel like an idiot after reading that. '>_oflagmyidol wrote:Four years is a really fucking long time to spend on one website (and one game). Let's have an orgy of sadness/nostalgia.
