Optional New Forum

Well, I've made a new forum, that has more categories and a wider choice of skins.

Basically, it's an optional forum that is highly incomplete, and I need some admins and mods to help manage it. Also, I have no clue how to make the title list, so excuse me on that.

http://ndiscussion.21.forumer.com/index.php

Alright, in-depth, it's a forum that is basically a merge between this one and the old one, with more forums and it includes bash-and-thrash (in which guests can't go into), Nreality and custom levels and level packs are split up.

Visit it, register, and start foruming on both forums!

PS: It's also a reserve forum, incase this one has a disaster in which case everybody can move to the other whilst one is being fixed.

Ive looked at it, but imo we should only use this forum if there are serious admin problems here. Its too feature bare atm. But thanks for the mod position :)

Whatever happened to the NUMA Forums?

They died before they even started because they were entirely redundant, just like this new attempt.

I have a feeling this attempt will probably be forgotten by many within two weeks. As in one week to get the members to join, and one week for them to realise it's pointless.

But thumbs up for trying!

Hey it's not that bad, it's got loads of skins and the forums that were deleted in the move.

If you haven't already, give it a browse through cos it's pretty good.

(I think i'm getting the hang of being an admin... hard stuff)

It's absolutely pointless, there's no reason for anyone to join up and browse it at all. We already have a much better forum here, with more experienced and qualified staff, with far superior functionality, and all the sub forums we need.

Aside from this satisfying your lust for power/recognition, it's of no benefit to anyone.

Being an admin of a successful forum has a lot more to do with learning the controls. You need the right temperament and a good deal of experience, both of which you're not in possession of currently.

Drop this and put your efforts into something that will actually enhance the community; you're wasting your time.

Stop acting like you know everything about me, because you don't know shit.

The Nreality forum? The seperate level packs and custom level forums? I think alot of people can find fault with this forum, I'm just giving everybody a second choice.

And I've already said, it can be used as a reserve forum incase this one has a mega crisis.

Insert Rant Here.

There is absolutely no use for that forum at all, except if this forum would be hacked, which is unlikely since we don't depend on Forumer anymore and the Admins have stronger passwords. You want skins? Go find some more and suggest it to Dave. Hell, whatever happened to that thread about that skin project? It could be contributed for more skins. As previously stated in the old forum, we really don't need B&T anymore unless for the occasional fuck and rant, which can be found in the IRC. If you haven't realized, this forum -is- that forum and more, since we have BBC for NUMA maps and just a better dynamic overall. I know you're trying to contribute to the community somehow, and I do appreciate your efforts, but please. Contribute something useful, even the smallest things count here, like a good post, or helping someone out. We don't need another forum when we've got everything we need here. It's like seeing a whole lane of pie in a pie buffet, and when the pie buffet is full, the manager would ask, "So do we need to order more pie?" It's redundant, we have enough pie! Also, to finalize myself, this kind of thing has been done in the past (twice, I believe), and while they were attempts at well-meaning, they have died. I'd recommend that the next time you try and do something like this, ask others for opinions before you do it, so you could get a good idea on what could happen and what your actions could provide, it makes life much easier. You did this with well-meaning, but that doesn't mean that the thought always counts.

This response is the exact reason why you're not suited to the duty of admin. This and almost every single post you've made on the forum. Your posts and the way you conduct yourself tells us as much as we need to know about you to make a judgement in this regard.
Evil_Sire wrote:The Nreality forum? The seperate level packs and custom level forums?
wow, two whole new forums that are mostly redundant anyway. There's plenty of room here to create the topics related to those categories.
Evil_Sire wrote:And I've already said, it can be used as a reserve forum incase this one has a mega crisis.
A flimsy edit you made as an afterthought (as can be seen in your op) to add some kind of validity to future protests that this is actually more for the community than it is for yourself. Almost every topic you've started has been transparent: you're grasping for fame.

On an unrelated note, I have made a forum too :)

http://ghmatts-aoestrats.forumotion.net/

However, its not N, its with a game I used to play, and I got quite a few members to sign up and use it as a resource.

Woooooooo! Go Ani! Woooooooo!

Evil_Sire, you really don't seem to get it. This forum isn't about becoming the person with the most posts, or the most power, or any of that, no, it's about everyone doing big and small things to help make it a fun place to be. We're a community, not a competition.

With the way everyone's reacted here, I can't blame you if you think we all hate you. But we don't, not permanently, at least. You can still salvage this. If you stop thinking of this forum as your enemy, a place to conquer, in a six months, we, including you, will all look back and laugh at fiascos like this.

Or something. I'm no good at writing these sorts of things. Point is, you're not off the cliff yet, but you're heading at the edge really fast.

Yes well, if it's a community, maybe everyone should stop being cunts when I give people a choice.

Also.

Also, going through the forum, I saw that it was sustained by Forumer, not by the client we currently use, which is odd because if I remember correctly, we moved -out- of Forumer, and we're not going back to that place again. Just throwing that out there.

We're just telling you the obvious by previous happenings. Whether or not you're going to accept it is your choice.

Hehe, well, forumer was the only free forum hosting site I could think of off the top of my head, and I seriously hate digging.

Hm.

If you're not willing to put effort into something, it only shows how unfit for leadership you are (especially something as simple as digging). If you couldn't find it, well, you tried, but you devoted yourself into it, which is already achievement enough.

Do you know why these forums that people make fail?

Because the community is perfectly happy here.
You'll never get as many people to join as are here, the ones that do join will not be those who know how to run a community.
