never knows best -->

It's been a tough year. Lots of good help in this level pack from a lot of good people. lord_day and skyline play-tested. I'll be releasing them in fourths, one 25 map lump at a time. Enjoy.

Turns out some people were unaware that you need to level sort the maps in userlevels by clicking the level button at the top of the list. Otherwise the maps will not play in order. :<

(side a)
Image

The weakest portion of maps I think. Some really great spots from sept, lord_day and others bring it up though.

Mommy, Mommy, Where's My Brain? The best from this portion of maps. Except for maybe 'A Dharma Bum', but that's the kind of map that I think wouldn't get a second look on numa.

(side b)
Image

As with the rest of the pack, this portion will be better than the last. southpaw, toasters, and atob all have pretty cool maps in this part. I left the '&userdata=' thing out of this text file because I figured you guys could just slip this in under side a. Thanks for all the feedback guys, keep it up!

Cult Logic, I made with sept in mind, and he liked it, and I liked that he liked it. That's why it's in the pack. :D

Science is Fiction is an open crystalline action that I liked a lot, the name came from a Skyline IRC post or something, I can't quite remember.

Set the controls for the heart of the sun. is a map I love dearly, concept map with one-ways. cowboy bebop, lol.

Copacabana has some aesthetics borrowed from lord_day. It works really well as an arena action, a playground. Edit: Hey this one was featured!

(side c)
Image

Starting to pick it up now I think. This section starts to get harder more puzzly, the last one's my favorite. Also, be sure to level sort, and if you've downloaded the previous two sides you can just slip this under them in userlevels. Be sure to tell me what you think!

Heads Will Roll is a dance map. I really love how the yellows and blacks go together. The map for me, is very visually appealing.

Hellhole Ratrace was inspired by steez, which I guess is shortshift.. but whatever. The map is really fun, and pretty long, picaresque I think.

Lights All Askew In the Heavens is a simple cave type map with gauss. Uses the gauss trick made famous by Yahoozy's dronie winning map (can't remember the title). The title comes from a newspaper clipping about Einsteins general relativity.

(side d)
Image

Absolutely the best side. These are really hard though, includes some clever puzzles and ridiculous actions. This is probably the most inventive and unique side as well.

Get Behind Me Satan is a concept map that was kicked around for a few weeks. I think it ended pretty well, a challenging thwump puzzle with pretty aesthetics.

Convinced of the Hex is probably the hardest map in the pack. You have to know how to manipulate chainguns to make your way to the exit.

Abraxas got mixed reviews from playtesters, but I thought it played really well, and while it doesn't look so great in the thumbnail it isn't bad in full view.

Great Gonzos has some unique gameplay and aesthetics that I thought gave the pack some variety.

If You're Feeling Sinister started out as a collaboration with southpaw, but he pussed out so I finished it up myself. It was the last map I made for the pack, and has a different feel and look compared to the rest of the maps.

Screaming Fields of Sonic Love is one of the first maps I made for the pack. It's extremely hard, I just love the title to death.

Young Adult Friction is maybe in hindsight a bit too hard. It may be one of the hardest one enemy maps I've ever played, it's certainly the hardest I've ever made.

Pantera! is a map I wanted to be very abrasive and sharp, while still maintaining a polished look. Edit: This one was featured too!

played it.

i guess it's very allright. faves: Head East, Switchboard, A Dharma Bum and Maximos map (weird name :P)

ah, and Don't Panic is great, too. the title reminds me of the Hitchhiker's Guide.

<~blue_tetris> First off, making a game and calling it the sequel to Tetris is like making "Butter 2: Revenge of Butter".
<~blue_tetris> And it's actually margarine.

You could have just released this in the old topic you know, with a title change and everything.

EDIT: But the pack is good enough to correct your mistake.

Well I didn't want the poll option at the top of the thread. I thought the rule was that you shouldn't make a hype thread and a thread for the pack itself. This doesn't fall under that because the old thread wasn't a hype thread but actually a thread to ask about the distribution of my level pack. If I'm completely off base here I apologize.

Also, I'm glad you think it's good. :D

I played this a little while ago and I think it's excellent. Can't wait for the next three parts.

More people should play this.

Not much to say about it. Good aesthetics.

OMG Dunfoy, that's beyond amazingly beautiful. If I had known how to do that, I would have done some cool format/color shit for the pack. Also, thanks a ton for playing and commenting on each map. I hope you find the time to do the rest as well. :D

You might have noticed I didn't review some maps. That doesn't mean I didn't like them. It means I didn't complete them, and I didn't have the skill/patience to complete them. If I don't complete a map, I don't feel comfortable reviewing. I don't even really like to comment on a map where I didn't do an AGD!

CONCLUSION

It certainly wasn't as fun as side a, while still having some really great ones. Haha, I find pretty curious you find this better than the other! Is it just me? Looking forward to more![/font]

I just finished playing through all of side b. It was decent overall. Better at the beginning than at the end. Copablanca or whatever it was stood out as being particularly good, and I liked the Soul Sacrifice thing too.
