I updated the pack list again with a whole ton of new stuff by various people - most of them winners whose packs never got to see action due to Mapdraft 1 closing down. Well, they will now.
The second thing is that due to Sunday being Valentine's Day :3 I will not be in the mood to do anything mapdraft related so i am pushing back the judging by one day. You will receive your results Monday night instead, and Round 2 will begin on Tuesday rather than Monday. Sorry!
okay 3 things i lied:
To compensate for delaying the judging by one day everyone who has ever posted in this thread or the old mapdraft thread can create up to 2 new packs of any type for use in round 2!, no strings attached.
Just PM me your creations and i will slip them in for immediate usage. Thanks everybody!

Lovely! Please sign me up for round two.
Also, you have a PM waiting in your inbox, PALEMOON, although I figure this contest eats most of your time on here.

Okay. Here's the results for roundu one
Due to some no-shows and drop-outs there were only 14 maps submitted this round. All participants have been shuffled into two pods of 7 instead for this round to make it even (and easier on me)
Doing something different this round. I'm going to give feedback on all the maps rather than just the winners.
and now it's time for the
RESULTS :D
Pod 1
I.Chocollama
II.Daikenkai
III.ninja143
IV.Scrivener
V.toasters
VI.numa_ninja
VII.Sunset
First Place:
MAPDRAFT2Y: THE REVENGING i by numa_ninja
This map looks gorgeous (especially for a mapdraft map) complete with elegant rocket spacing and a very cool hook arrangement on the right. The gameplay is dangerous and fast with the large amounts of rockets ready to kill you, making for some cool dodging moments and not-so-cool frustrating deaths. The map itself was pretty short once you avoided being killed over and over, but still a very fun and good-looking experience. Well done.
Second Place:
lines of blue and red by script
I liked this a lot. Killer combo with the lasers and lines of thwumps in the middle section, and the two sides were more like short, intense puzzles. Nicely done.
Third Place:
Look Alive by Chocollama
This map combines tense hide-and-seek chaingun gameplay with an almost laid-back gold collecting feel. You never feel overwhelmed or out of control, but if you get too comfortable there is always a lurking chaingun ready to set you straight. Very fun.
Bonus
The View From This MAPDRAFTED Tower by toasters
toasters combines a previously-done tileset with a large, LARGE amount of one-ways here for a map that is challenging and fun. Glitching the oneways and outsmarting killer gauss turrets makes every piece of the minimal gold a valuable (and dangerous) opportunity, but sometimes awkward deaths result from the placement or timing of the gauss turrets.
Runners Up
Now Wait A Minute by Daikenkai
I have a love/hate relationship with this map. At times it's full of amazing leaps and awesome chaingun dodges, and at others it's full of awkward rockets and falling to your death due to a weird angle. The sides and bottom are tense and rewarding but climbing to the exit switch is more irritating than anything. I still had fun though.
Map Draft 1 by ninja143
Pretty strange map. I was skeptical of the first area with the launchpads but it was more interesting than i thought. The rest of the map's looks are deceiving and actually very enjoyable. I especially liked the launchpads in the second area - the combination of upside down and rightside up pads made it very cool.
OMFG A BOX by Sunset
Although the rule set said that your item's can't move at all i can see your reasoning as to why thwumps are okay, so you're fine this round :) I really liked the way the trap doors were utilized and the single laser was well placed. Fun.
Pod 2
I.brainstone
II.golfkid
III.Tunco123
IV.Leaff
V.Kisler
VI.Erik_Player
VII.Seneschal[/size]
First Place:
First Draft by Seneschal
An extremely snazzy setup that uses the entire map area with a minimum of items, this map is very, very enjoyable. Despite using the entire map area it plays very fast and there is tons of room for making faster or more efficient runs. Awesome.
Second Place:
Cut-Ups and Lampposts by Leaff
Attractive gold layouts and INTENSE DRONE COMBAT make this map fun. The dispersal of the drones makes the difficulty vary widely during gameplay and is altogether an enjoyable map. Nice!
Third Place:
Trail Ttrail with Triple Ccore by brainstone
As far as completely debilitating Rule Packs go, Gloomp's Plaster Casts of Everything does a pretty good job of making a mapper think on his toes. Fortunately brainstone here can work with completely bizarre rules and still make an enjoyable and bizarre action map. woot!
Bonus
Circular Motion by golfkid
Speaking of bizarre action maps and strange pack sets, goldkid here has created something highly enjoyable. Usually i am not a fan of these highly technical gold-collecting maps, but in this case jumping around calmly for all the gold was a lot of fun. Nice usage of your mostly enemy-less packs.
Runners Up
薄い壁の暗殺者 by Kisler
This very challenging jumper map's looks can be deceiving due to an interesting rule pack. A lot of fun and very rewarding for the difficulty. の一見は興味深い規則のパックによる欺くことである場合もある。 難しさのために多くの楽しみそして非常に有意義!
Black by Tunco
I...what? what is going on in this map. I suppose i should specify that you can only put in 1 exit yourself, but this was a kinda clever interpretation, i guess. Uh. Hmm. getting to the end the intended way was kinda interesting.
Power Above by Erik-Player
This was very cool. The intimidating mines floating around everywhere was made for an amazing atmosphere and made running around in the open a terrifying prospect. My only complaint stems from the combination of bounceblocks, mines, and rockets that made jumping around sometimes cramped and frustrating. Mostly, however, this is really cool. Well done.
I'll be creating the list of participants and mailing out packs for round 2 later tonight. stay tuned and thank you for your PARTISIPASHUNNNNN

I like that palemoon liked my map. Because I liked it. Have to say, the winners' maps were really good, though. Crazy good.[3d=5]Can't wait for round 2![/3d]This very challenge jumper map' When it is the glance of s to be due to the pack of interesting rule and to deceive, it is.
