how bout someone make a playerlegends list or something.

I have more credibility and skill than most of those players easily. as does kryX. but we never get noticed for all our 0ths cuz we're sr, which apparently, some think is easier or something. which is total bullshit as I don't see any of those players excluding a few taking our 0ths. :/

Yeah, kryX and Kool should be on there because it says players. :/

Once again, this was a personal list. Since I'm not a notable speed runner, It would be difficult for me to honestly say I drew inspiration from you guys more than the players I learned from when I was starting out highscoring way before NReality existed. That said, if you think we should do some kind of poll to get a more precise community ranking - we could arrange that... what do you guys think? I suppose you could also do the same thing for mappers.

Don't feel bad or take it personally but you weren't really in the highscoring scene and the only Top-20s you have comprise of 0ths or ex 0ths. Besides, statistically van has dedicated much more time (into highscoring at least) than you have. Also don't be bitter; you've still influenced and inspired me a lot =)

well a current ranking kind of defeats the purpose, since it'd just be essentially the 0th ranking list with a few differences (I suppose you could do that for mapping but maps are on a level playing field, as in people in 2005 have the exact same methods for mapping that they do now. Highscorers have to deal with innovations, surge in competition etc.

In the build up to the Best Of N 2 video, I've compiled an ordered Top-20 list in what I believe are the most influential N players of the past 6 years. I tried to choose a lot of older players who were dominant during their most active period as well as players who had a long and consistent career. It was quite tough and in the end I excluded some notable players such as sammage, Izzy, glib_jase, toad, Dan_K, cyberjuda, Kaellstar, Afterthought etc. and excluded players who have either admitted to cheating or are suspected of cheating. Without further ado: I present to you, my personal list of the most influential N players of all time.

You left out Msyjsm and Afterthought and naem. Between them they came up with around half of the best routes.

well i think you'll find i didn't leave out Afterthought. naem is a proven cheater and if i put him in then i have to put kryx, L3X and Raif in. Msyjsm was more of a casual player - I can't think of him getting much more than 2 innovations... please cite which level innovations you mean specifically?

I wanted to bump this thread by inducting some players; these players aren't necessarily ranked, but I believe are deserving of a place in my personal hall of fame. (Who am I really to be doing this!? ;P)

glib_jase, macrohenry, Meta_Ing, Kool-Aid, ToeFaceKiller, Izzy, Swipenet (in particular for his NReality runs). Someone make this guy a page ;)

You "never get noticed" because speedrunning is both much newer and not built into the original game. ska's an old-timer. Chill.

Yeah JF did do two cheated runs on 89-0 and one other can't remember ^^, and I know it is kind of hypocritical to keep him in the rankings, and ignore others like L3X who had both cheated and legit runs, but hey the system is not perfect, but I do the best I can to keep the boards as legit as possible. I also agree that tktktk should be higher since he was really the first great highscorer, but as Ska said it is players to who influenced him the most and that makes the list very opinionated. But if other people were to post their lists I think that would be a good idea, Although I don't mean to highjack Ska's thread.

Yea nvm, I was just ranting and being childish then (feeling left out, etc). I have proven myself well enough and continuing to do so. :)
