So do I. One of them is Teen Dream.

I somewhat agree with gloomp. Teen Dream had a few good songs (Used To Be, The Arrangement) but for the most part was bland and uneventful. Which, when you're a newer band trying to make a name for yourself, isn't the thing to be.

I guess the thing that bothers me is that it does seem to be thing to be. Taking this year's retro-pop fetish and adequately rehash it with an "indie" spin seems to be a very consistent recipe for success in the hipster-mainstream. Get yourself signed to sub-pop, best new music on P4K, and your 15 minutes are all but guaranteed.

Well i love teen dream. It's weirdly saturated, the album seems to fill my head like a pleasant headache. Admittedly, an odd description, but about the closest simile I can come up with.

Teen Dream? Isn't that a Katy Perry song?

Just saw Tron: Legacy just wanted to mention that I thought the score was quite nice. It was quite different from the soundtrack, however.

It was like that for Scott Pilgrim, too. The bass battle wasn't even on the soundtrack. :(

A Ghost Is Born -- Wilco

I hadn't heard this album in quite some time and it blew me away all over again. (Side note: if you're not a Wilco fan, become a Wilco fan.)

Been listening to obscene amounts of lo-fi lately. As what seems to happen to me, I forget NMH for about six or so months, and then have about a month or so when they are, pretty literally, all I listen to. And, as of late, I listen to some Death Cab For Cutie at least once a day, as well.

I recently fell in love with Joanna Newsom. Ys. is <3. And I took the time the other day to actually sit and listen to GY!BE, and I find that they're quite fantastic too.

Been getting back into anime recently, so I've been listening to bands that do openings and soundtracks for the shows I've been watching. Stance Punks and The Pillows make up the bulk of this.

The opening music for Death Note is the worst part of Death Note.

however the jazzy opening tracks to Cowboy Bebop and Baccano! are great. Samurai Champloo also has a cool opening

†‡† (rrritualzzz) - CDR. I'm really into witch house right now. I think it's one of the more exciting new trends in music.

Saito Koji - Beautiful. Yahoozy said this was better than The Disintegration Loops. High praise. Either way, Saito Koji is my new ambient crush.

NEW EARTH NEW EARTH NEW EARTH

Honorable mention: the new Meshuggah live album is surprisingly good. I've always been sort of skeptical that these guys could pull this shit off live. No more.
