The 10-from-Fork Kanye! I gave it another try by accident and it actually worked for me, especially the Bon Iver piece. The last few tracks were really evocative of Gil Scott-Heron. Fitting.

It took a couple listens, but boy did this album grow on me. These guys didn't disappoint.

People write to me and say, "I’m giving up, you’re not talking to me." I just write them a simple message like, "Never give up," you know? And it changes their life

Hahaha. My subconscious is so good. I'm gonna go listen to some of that again.

Was very, very unsure about this (to put it kindly) on first listen. Mike inexplicably seems to have decided to do away with distortion of any sort. With Adolescents released early, I had really high expectations for the album, and was somewhat disappointed when the rest of it turned out sounding more like Brandon Boyd's solo stuff - which is not that bad a thing, but I was hoping that when Boyd decided to release a solo album, it was an indication that he was keeping that style of music separate from his Incubus work. Which doesn't seem to be the case, really.

On further listens, an easy album to get to. Most (if not all) of the songs are really safe, for better or for worse, and nice to chill to. In The Company of Wolves is a strange exception, and what they did with the second part of that song is bizarre but refreshing in that it's not as straightforward as the rest of the album.

Isadore is goddamn sunshine and rainbows. Love it.

This is exactly how I felt about the album with the exception that you didn't put any hearts next to the word "Isadore", so....

Wugazi - 13 Chambers. Wu-Tang Clan / Fugazi mash-up album a la Jaydiohead. Recommended to fans of either band or fans of mash-ups.
Image
The Subs - Decontrol. Probably my favourite electro-house band. Just makes me want to rave.

(It's Agora - Regresa al Vértigo.) Any prog and/or metal fans need to get this ASAP; one of the best albums of 2011 so far, and it only has like 22 listeners on last.fm. D:

Queen - A Day at the Races
In my opinion, the best Queen album. Tie Your Mother Down has one of the best intros of all time, too.

Image

The Divine Comedy - Fin de Siecle
This guy is so so so good. Again, this is probably my favourite album of his, and contains at least 5 perfect songs in a row, from Thrillseeker, which wouldn't sound of place as a Bond theme, to National Express, which is just great fun and delivered with typical wit. Eric the Gardener is my own personal favourite, though, and one of my favourite songs of all time, too.

The Kooks - Konk (Just got this yesterday, and I am content with my purchase.)

Imagine Dragons - It's Time EP (These guys are amazing for an extremely obscure indie band.)

I initially discovered this album quite a while ago, but I'm just now starting to fully appreciate it.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Magical Mystery Tour is the best Beatles album. That or Revolver, at any rate. In fact, let's list:

1. Magical Mystery Tour
2. Revolver
3. Sgt. Pepper
4. Abbey Road
5. White Album
etc.
