Well, I'm sure it' beatable, but I certainly wouldn't have the patience to try and take it... those LP's are hellish!
Ed's run also looks blazingly fast. So props to him...

Yes Eddy's run is beatable, but not by much. I've been able to get a 1003 frame run with my route missing one gold, and its been my goal for a while to break 1000 frames. I just haven't had the patience to go for it since getting the right bounces off the lp's coming out of the side sections on the right and left are a total bitch. I haven't figured out what the right entry into those chutes is for a consistent exit.

No I didn't use Eddy's route. Its the same route I use in my current run, I was just unable to get clean runs through both sides.

I think golfkid's route is faster although i am not sure about his ending. I think that a combination of eddy's and golf's ending would be optimal but golf's route going in to the tunnel on the left is faster for sure.

Sounds like you used v6g2 and your .sol file got deleted. You should have backed it up before upgrading :|
If you don't have a backup there is no way to get your progress back :(

On how to use the Ghost function there should now be Prev-Run and Demo buttons. You can compare with your previous run with prev run. With Demo you can compare against another demo (obviously you have to watch a demo first)

Used ghost function now and surprise: I think , the fastest way to get in to the left tunnel is terminator´s variant.
---> Eddy´s run is definetily beatable, but it´s hard as hell

Edit:
Guys, I just managed to get a 998 frame run, but lost 3 pieces.
Finally, I took it with an 1005-frame run, still room for improvement.

Check out the run I just submitted, 948 frames missing one gold. Completely by accident, and I'm not sure if the last piece is able to be gotten.

thought about that route, too, but as you know, you would need so much luck...
As I said, just took the 0th, although Eddy´s run looks faster, or is it just me? :D

i'm pretty sure you can't get all 9 golds from the bunch you missed the 1 from with 1 jump from that angle (nice grammar van, thx)

It doesn't bother me, people used to do this quite frequently actually. Its a good way to provoke competition. I'll check it out when I get home.
