on 2.0, I'd like to see someone pull of an in-between mine jump on b9-4 or use the corners of the single-tiled pits where the drones go.

64-4 innovs

#1
Instead of jumping:
#2
Instead of triple/double on 4 tile:
Note: In this demo I get the 3rd bottom right gold, before climbing this up. This is slower than the normal method.
#3
This is basically #2 + falling into the chamber rightmost chamber to get the piece of gold. This is the only extra gold that would be worth anything in realtime. But even then not by much.
#4
Alternate middle route used in my MBD. Faster but harder.

Let's keep this thread alive! :)
1) Compare my 14-2 run with Kool's using ghost mode. At the end, you see that walljumping below the mine is a bit faster.
2) My 51-1 innovation.

Oh, cool! But now I wonder why so few people use it, it's not very hard to do.

Question: Is there any merit to my start on 26-4 in v2? I say this because the same map is also in v1.4 and because I feel like my score would be fairly high if I could cheat the bounceblock and do awesome walljumps like the rest of you highscoring folk. I have no way to test this, though, and I'm wondering how the m4d sk!llz of a top highscorer would affect the route. Thoughts?

We've come up with lots of innovations the past days, so here's another one, for 39-0.
The floorguard on the right and especially the drone in the exit chamber may cause trouble, but maybe you guys can do something with this.
EDIT: I tested this route a bit and it didn't turn out to be faster. :(

New route for 03-4, Nv2.0.
It's not an 0th, but I'm sure it could be...

Oh nice innov, cleaned it a bit. Also improved my 00-0 by a frame, I had been some time planning on doing it because I was tired of my 0th demo run to be missing (which I still don't know how it happened) :S
Btw how come that almost nobody is tying 72-2, that level is maxed (without any thwump trick that is) and its easy peasy to get it, when I did it I figured the boards would get full quickly. Come on guys get your spot!

Very nice 00-0, I can't seem to improve on my score, but I've never been good at frame war levels. It looks like I'm getting close to the bottom of most of the frame war levels in the 00 column actually...EddyMataGallos wrote:Oh nice innov, cleaned it a bit. Tied that 72-2, and also came up with a slightly faster route for 03-1 a while ago as we're in a innov thread, but I suck a getting the bottom-left gold.

tied 72-2, and by the way WHY ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT v2 0THS IN HERE AND NOT IN THE THREAD THAT HAS AMAZING POLLS? surely there's nothing more enticing about a thread than the fact that it keeps a fresh stock of immensely thought-provoking and utterly spectacular polls to vote on periodically!EddyMataGallos wrote:Btw how come that almost nobody is tying 72-2, that level is maxed (without any thwump trick that is) and its easy peasy to get it, when I did it I figured the boards would get full quickly. I'm pretty sure that there's a faster route for 91-1 hs. I couldn't find one, but here are some thoughts in the shape of two demos:

I came up with a route similar to that first one for the nv2 version of that level (17-0), due the the drones making the v1.4 route impossible.macrohenry wrote:I'm pretty sure that there's a faster route for 91-1 hs. I couldn't find one, but here are some thoughts in the shape of two demos:
I just retook that 17-0 with a time that's faster that than the v1.4 0th, but obviously the drone routes are slightly different, so I don't know whether that will be possible in v1.4
I do like the idea of getting the top gold first but I'm not sure its quicker, I'll have a go at that at some point

That first demo, is it possible to do a falling cj to the exit at the end, or are the mines too close to the corner to get that? Seems like that would be faster than falling down to where you were, and using a regular cj to finish.macrohenry wrote:I'm pretty sure that there's a faster route for 91-1 hs. [16:24] <@golfkid> I'm pretty sure I will literally scream if I die on the last column of 78-4 at this point
[16:25] <trance> Oh, yeah. That level.
[16:29] <@golfkid> lol
[16:30] <@golfkid> It looks so simple
[16:30] <@golfkid> But it says "NO! I will rape your sanity!"

I'm not sure, I've never done a corner jump like this before, but maybe someone else knows if it's possible.golf wrote:That first demo, is it possible to do a falling cj to the exit at the end, or are the mines too close to the corner to get that? I actually took a closer look at it, and I don't think its doable, for a couple reasons. Either its impossible to get any sort of a corner jump there with how close the mine is, or the angle you would have to come in at it means that you wouldn't have enough height to make it over the next platform, so you'd have to do another cj anyways. Looks like that path you've got is probably the best ending to that route.macrohenry wrote:I'm not sure, I've never done a corner jump like this before, but maybe someone else knows if it's possible.

I'm surprised no-one has replied to this sooner, but that's actually a pretty nice route. I've made a few changes to avoid the rockets and added a few extra tricks, but this could definitely be used to take 0th.Pheidippides wrote:Question: Is there any merit to my start on 26-4 in v2? 48-1. The new route looks awesome, but it's only like 10-15 frames faster and much harder. :(

Yeah. High risk, low reward time-wise, but of course, enough to clinch the 0th if you can hold it together. It would catapult you to an early nomination for run of the year if you can nab it.TheRealOne wrote:My jaw hit the floor when looking at that route. "looks awesome is an understatement." 73-2:
I know, xaelar already beat the drone, but this way it's easier. However, you'll need another innovation to beat the drone on the left.
Also useful for speedruns!

heh.. that actually looks harder to me with the corner jump. (I'll take your word for it!)macrohenry wrote:73-2:
