No worries, good to see you knew what I meant :)

EDIT: Here's the full sizes: Index Topic Thread UCP

EDIT2: Hm. I appear to be missing some things. Like the line to separate the avatar etc. from the post in Topic view and the lines have shadows in the Thread view. They'll be fixed at some point before coding. ;)
Why in the hell is it so dark?? >:(
It's not dark, it's gray.

And background fits so well.

It's not dark. imo.

How about a random image each refresh? Chase could work his magic on some base images such as these, for example. Say if a total of 10 were created, that should please most parties.

Idea, if this was plausible, maybe have one screenshot, each with a different coloured ninja on them.

As long as each map has enough space to the left for the text.

If the text will be small as the Index page preview you posted, it won't be a problem to find space for text though.

Ok if that's the case. What we're going to do is this, I need a screenshot of every flavour of ninja, on any level, MTI and Mount Doom MUST be included.

Now. Have fun :)

I've got to redo some of them with alternate ninja colours?! *Realises he hasn't completed N since resetting PC* *Starts playing from 00-0*

One thing... not a fan of the dust clouds in the screens, but I suppose that's personal preference. Ah well. Watch this space for some new/edited images.

Looks like I'm going to have to kick this up a gear once again.

I've fixed the Topic and Thread views of the Retronet skin. I just need whoever is going to code them (Wight) to tell me they're ready to code the skin. I just need to add the extra images for the skin.

Um, what about the screenshot?
I have all ninja colors, except for the 90th and 80th columns.

So I stopped paying attention to skin development the last time Pembie came back, which was about the time I was given the authority to work on Chrome (which I didn't do anything, because Pembie was back). Since he obviously has left again, would you guys be cool with me just working on Chrome/Cobalt in my spare time? A few of the more obnoxious bugs I could fix in minutes (unmarked links comes to mind).

Go ahead...how to you get the authority to work on Chrome?

Easy, he just gets all the relevant Chrome files. Which means I need to go fishing :/

With the, err, blessing by the community (read: Wight), I'm going to actually do something.
First up! 10 seconds to fix links. Now underlined normally, and slightly lighter on mouse over/visit.
Unless some admin gives me a slap, I'm going to be trying a few things randomly, I promise not to break anything :D (these are mostly easy CSS fixes)

Edit: unintended consequences I didn't notice until now! Unvisited topics are also underlined... working on this. I think the underline looks bad in general actually... might change it to just a slightly different color.

Well here's an updated version of Retronet, which will be the final preview. Enjoy.

Some of the fonts/text are kinda fuzzy (slightly). I don't know if it's just my monitor though.

That's the CS4 font smoothing, I believe.

Yes, we need new icons, but that is a good start. I have the PSD now, so I may fiddle around with it a bit.

One: I didn't want the main forum icons to be N-related with Robotology on it's way. The header is fine though, there is a better, higher quality version that is being coded right now.

Yeah as Wight said, that's CS4 font smoothing, it'll look better when using Windows/Mac smoothing, probably looking best through ClearType.

But yeah, the icons are fine.

EDIT: Updated that preview for you to see :)

Posting a second reply here because I feel it's necessary.

Apparently you all hate the 'Crystal Project' icons, so I'm gonna try replacing them with the 'Danish Royalty Free' icons by Jonas Rask. We shall see what it looks like.

The 16px variations may change using another set, but for now just the larger icons will change.

Here's a preview of the Danish set, while the 16x16 won't change.

Er, what's wrong with some good old-fashioned N icons, like the ones we had on Metanet back in the day?

See my point earlier? Metanet are creating Robotology as we speak, this isn't just an N forum. Which is why me, amongst others, wanted to detract from that with the skin.

Also, the URL doesn't count. :P

Well it appears that Wight has the Retronet skin completely under control. Over the next couple of days Chrome will be tweaked so that a few things are fixed, namely the username backgrounds and the misalignment of the blue bars.

Flexible width is beyond me though, I have no idea as to how that's gonna be completed.
