Fun game. Uhoh, the question I am on now is "Her flipper's are sporty?" Well sure flippers are used in various water sports but maybe the word sporty is subject to opinion. It certainly isn't used that way over here. What a dilemma. I need to choose one answer though. I'm going to say 'fact' as flippers are practical in watersports and maybe were desinged with a sporty look to attract customers with an active lifestyle.

GOD DAMMIT IT'S OPINION

I got 4/5 on a children's game. :(

Anyway, on topic. I own an 360 and a Wii. I far prefer the 360 to the Wii for it's online play and game library. That's not to say the Wii is bad though. It just struggles to do what its older brothers did last gen. When it comes to 360 vs. PS3 I find it hard do decide. I have played the PS3 and it is very good. Far better than the 360 in terms of hardware. The main features are practically the same on each console and they both have awesome unique features. I guess I prefer the 360 because I'm used to it. That's what it boils down to though: opinion.

Sportiness isn't a quality you can see. Even you had to follow a convoluted logic chain to arrive at "fact". Were you even listening to Binky when he told you how to play. Is Arthur too much for you. What. Go to jail.

I just finished browsing the list of titles X-Box has available on the download service. I will admit it is currently much more impressive than WiiWare, if you ignore the mass of titles in the Virtual Console. So that gives X-Box a point.

Wii: 10
360: 3

This debate would be a lot more exciting if there were more than just two sides to the issue. :\

Wow, nice find.
The PS3 however, is black and looks significantly better.
That's my opinion anyway.

Orange- N cannot be spoken, or even thought about in my household. If my parents ever found out that I have played N since the cleansing, my life would be ruined. I keep the game in a multi-passworded .rar on a USB flash drive inside a locked boron alloy container that requires two keys to open (I keep one under the 64th hammer in my piano, and the other one in a small section of removable ceiling in the corner of the attic) hidden in a wall compartment lined with aluminium foil to prevent sonar detection behind my 375 kg cupboard, which is bolted to the floor - the only way to reach it is to abseil outside the fourth floor window and use a screwdriver to unfasten the screws holding the secret brick in place on the opposite side of the wall, but the screwdriver must be a specific type like the one I own, since if any other screwdriver comes into contact with the screws, the entire building will explode, as will a seperate charge placed inside the boron alloy container, rendering the USB useless. Even once the container is retrieved, attemping to open it without the arming pin in place (which is kept inside the battery compartment of my Maglite) will cause the water reservoirs lining the container to burst and react with the caesium lining, causing the container to burst into flames - the only way to prevent this is to use the arming pins to shut off the reservoirs with a sliding steel door. The USB itself contains an accelerometer linked to an explosive charge, meaning that if the USB detects its own movement speed as being greater than 5 cm/s, it will explode - any person attempting to steal it would have to move at a uselessly slow speed. Once plugged into a computer, the USB will upload a ghost virus onto it, leaving no traces. Only the right password can deactivate this virus, and if it is left on the computer for more than six hours, it will format all drives.

As you can see, I take my N playing very seriously.

Guiseppi- I'd much rather watch animals get boned in the ass.

Yanni- If it's glad, it's not rape.

Tsukatu- I refuse to use throw-away bags for such a frequent purpose as buying groceries. Instead, I've collected the hair of my two pet dogs and have woven them together into an all-natural, 100% environmentally friendly bag that I bring with me everywhere. And when I buy products that come in glass and plastic containers, I track down the company that packages them and ship back their containers so that they don't take up space in landfills.

Yeah, I use plastic.

Tsukatu- I hear Ebony Online is great, too. Cum save your princess, my lord!

Ska- UR MUM LIKE IS SPICY

Ska- why d i get the feeling what i typed will end up in the quote depository; or worse: someone's sig.

KinGAleX- I did it on the couch a little while ago.

Zeph- I got too pissed at the knife in the end so I just broke the wood on my knee

Despite the fact that SONY are now fearing a HD version of the Wii? Some speculate that SONY will take over Microsoft for second place in console sales by 2015, but if a HD version of the Wii was to come out (rumours being that it would be out around 2011), it would hinder sales of the PS3.

And I mean, none of these are the best...

Now with the slew of new stuff that arrived thanks to E3, it's clear that the Xbox 360 is going to clinch a load of sales next year. Natal with its badassery, free Last.fm, use of Sky (In the UK), Canal+ (In France), Twitter, Facebook and even more great games such as Forza 3, Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach among more. It's becoming obvious...

The PS3, don't get me wrong, is a great console for the power crazy freaks out there, its games are stunning in appearance yet I cannot seem to see where the PSN is better than LIVE. Yes, the main thing is that it's free. But this means that it may lack in some departments, read the list of new features above and you'll see my point (All that's needed is something that auto-tweets your now playing game).

The Wii, where did you go so, so wrong...it was a great console with great aspirations. The motion controller could have been used extremely well for some games. Red Steel was the main one that should have kick started other developers intentions for creating great FPS games on the Wii. Also the online capabilities of the Wii, it's obvious that Nintendo really need to get in shape with the "Wi-Fi Revolution" (Really they should have done considering the console's code name). Shame really.

So I side with the Xbox 360. And I forgot to mention, it has N+.

Me posting in the Debate forum? Blasphemy.

I still can't see any significant advantage of the PS3 over the X360, game wise and even globally. Graphics? Meh, I was truthfully not surprised by the graphics of both consoles. I'm really being sincere here, I played some games on the PS3 and the graphics were quite disappointing. Maybe I was expecting graphics a lot better than the Wii or even the last-gen consoles. I own a Wii, and while many games don't take the full power of it, some other games show it (imo, Metroid Prime 3 has some great graphics). Of course, both PS3 and Xbox are far better, but it's quite comparable :/
Resuming this above point: PS3 vs Xbox, graphically? I see no difference and I was expecting more, specially from PS3. PS and Xbox vs Wii? "Noticeable" difference. In a scale of 10, I would differentiate them by 3-4 points (I think I'm not being biased).

Another thing is the motion controls. Natal is good, but we need controls. And Wiimote is motion controls with good physical controls. BUT now, Nintendo! Put the WiiMotion inside the new Wiimotes!

I want to play an online FPS for the Wii... :/

I'm still waiting for the portuguese people realize Xbox's better than PS3, in terms of games and online. The thing is that we're still not used to internet on game consoles.

Not necessarily, even though you think we need them, we don't. In all honesty we don't need a controller, we're just so used to it that we don't like alternatives like Natal. Natal is an amazing game system that can easily beat the Wii hands down for pure fun and laughs, it's just so much more in depth than the Wii it's astounding.

When I said that, I said relative to "normal" games, like shooters and RPG's. What would you do to run? Run in place to be tired in what? 15 mins? Of course, it's awesome for other types of games, like fighting (totally customized moves :D).

Also, the only way you could fire a weapon was making its form with your hand like this
Image
and shoot with the 4th finger or something like that (and recharging with the thumb).

How would we turn around? We had to have something like... virtual boy? :D

...how do you know this when Natal is not available yet? Can you divine the future or something? Will you tell me which stocks to buy?

Also, as should be readily apparent to anyone who owns a Wii, we do indeed need a controller. Motion controls can certainly be useful, but shoehorning them into places where a button would have worked better because OMG MOTION CONTROLS is bad development. It's exactly the same mentality behind the fad of sticking lens flare and bloom lighting all over the place, just because you had the technology... except this is even more annoying, because it actually interferes with gameplay.

As a hypothetical example, imagine replacing keyboards with entering letters via a YMCA-esque dance routine. It might be amusing for the first five minutes, but most people would quickly realise that it's inefficient and tiresome.

Well put.

An assumption to counter your own, Chase: Natal will be a gimmick, nothing more. We're nowhere near the technology needed to make something like it fluent enough for any kind of precision gaming. All you're going to see with Natal are a bunch of specifically designed flash type games a la Wii Sports. It'll be a distraction for families at Christmas, or post-pub antics, it's not going to revolutionise a thing.

Until we step into the realms of virtual reality, full body motion control will remain nothing more than a distracting gadget.

It was SEGA's last console, before they stopped developing consoles altogether. It was the most powerful one on the market at the time, and had a brilliant line-up of games (Sonic Adventure Series, for example), but due to bad marketing it was, as brighter said, criminally undersold.

It came out in 1998 and started off Console Generation 6, several years before the PS2 (which was it's main rival), Xbox or Gamecube. It was also the console that pioneered online gameplay. Xbox Live, PSN, all originated from the Dreamcast.

SEGA still puts it in games though. For example, there are Dreamcasts hidden in some of the cutscenes of Sonic Unleashed, and even a sneaky little text about it.

Yeah but what did we think of the Wii? Exactly the same before its release. Only time will tell.

But me saying we need a controller is like saying we think we need Coca Cola. When we don't need it, we're accustomed to its presence so we think we need it when in all actuality we don't.

The Dreamcast was awesome yes, but was it too far ahead of its time? Was it released too long before the PS2? If they hadn't released it as early maybe it would have had a better chance. But against that you could say the same about Microsoft and the Xbox 360, but that became very successful.
