I know nothing about Record Players. I don't want to spend a whole lot of money on one, and less than a hundred dollars would be really good.

I would like to know what to look for when I go shopping as well.

Personally I really like my belt-drive turntable, but there is also the option of direct-drive. I don't know the exact difference, but belt-drive seems to work great.
Be sure it has a lowering mechanism near the tone arm to allow the stylus a gentle contact with the record when it starts. Some of them don't, so I've read.
Are you looking to play records through your computer and/or a stereo? If so you may want to get a USB turntable with a built-in preamp. There are a lot of different kinds.
You may want to make sure it also has an anti-skating feature too. It's important if you're going to be playing some older records with wear. It prevents the needle from jumping out of the grooves and sliding to the edge of the record. Not so important for newer records.
Dust covers are good too. Be sure that your record player comes with one. Also, one of these brushes:

What is prompting you to get a record player, if I may ask?

That's what I was going to ask, and then suggest. Since I'm a fan of having all my music on my computer, or an external hard drive somewhere, that's the option I would choose, but you may feel differently. I think you'd be able to find them for under $100, though. Fairly sure I've seen some on special here which were about $130, so when you put that into USD you should be fine.

I don`t need to put them on my computer at all.
