I've been really into Boris lately, and another recent favorite is "Dopesmoker" by Sleep.

My favorite metal band has to be Bring Me the Horizon. Suicide Season is my favorite album.

Right now, I like classic metal (just regular metal from the '70s-'80s), neo-classical, speed and thrash metal, but I can listen to any other kind of metal as long as there's no death growling and it isn't rap metal.
Oh, and I'm gonna see Alice Cooper in October, so that's nice.

DISTURBED FOREVER!
Hey, Voices is an epic song.
Well, I will have to go with Disturbed, unless you want to count Iron Maiden. Gorgoroth is okay too.
EDIT: oy, and Pantera.

Kyuss has some pretty good stuff, so does AILD, and been listening to A LOT of death, doom, thrash, and black. A LOT.

EDIT: BTW, does anyone know how to change their name?

PMing me with your desired changes might be the most useful method; I don't have the direct ability to change them, but I see most of the admins more often than most.

Bring Me The Horizon are straight up awesome. But Suicide Season? That was alright but Count your Blessings would kill it anyday. That was an epic fucking album. They went downhill with SS.

Also, I exceeded the bandwidth (shit) on the old metal forums so I have gone ahead and made some new ones which look straight up awesome. Join if you want to here.

Seconded. Also metal is nothing more than being aggressive. I listen to metal, but never had the feeling metal contained, it makes you a 'bad' person. There.

If you desire to continue to post in the metal thread, stop this now. You'd be surprised how easy it is to Find and Replace "Underoath rulez" with "Public Enemy's Chuck D did good work in the eighties."

<3 We can listen to whatever metal we want, just because deathcore is shitty to you, doesn't mean you have to enforce your opinion on us.
Tunco wrote:Seconded. Also metal is nothing more than being aggressive. I listen to metal, but never had the feeling metal contained, it makes you a 'bad' person. There.
What the fuck, you must be pretty weak if your personality can be swayed by music you think sounds aggressive. Also, just because it sounds aggressive doesn't mean it is. Think of any christian metal band, they sing with christian themes but sound just as brutal as the rest of them.

I think you got me wrong. What I said was metal is a good type of music, but don't let it effect your life/behaviour. I think you should get the point now.

Agreed.

Underoath was great back then, in my opinion, because they seemed like one of the first bands to show up with the screamer/ singer combo... correct me if im wrong there though, i only started getting into music a couple years before i listened to their "Theyre Only Chasing Safety" album
I execute position 12 of the Kama Sutra... Passion fills the room.

Well, actually, what I meant was that it depends on your point of view, and what musical styles you enjoy, and my personal opinion was that almost all metal is better than rap. By rap, I emphasize upon modern rap, but I consider metal, as a whole, being superior to rap. Just my opinion, didn't mean to offend anyone.

EDIT: I just now remembered the epic thread about rap that was going on when I left...
...sorry for bringing it up again
