The top ten maps of al time in this basis will all be oldies from when the submission rate was much smaller. I can only see this inducing jealous and sniping of maps like The Crazy Miner. Plus, basing a list on number of votes paves the way for n-arts to form a stranglehold on the top places.
If you'll look 5 posts up, you'll see I didn't resurrect this thread to throw out my old opinions, I simply said "Let's do it. 10 maps per week." (Plus a relatively straightforward caveat)

As for whatever else I said in this thread previously, I think a top-rated list would be nice. I never had the time to browse through the top 100 action maps, puzzle maps, races, etc. I would've liked to do that. But an ongoing list (like Arachnid's suggestion) is more flexible and fair, and will (or should, at least) do a good job of highlighting good maps.

Soz'barez.

Didn't know it was resurrection. The dates aren't that obvious.

Sorry to resurrect again, but I bothered to add a Uservoice topic for this: link

Please vote if you like this idea. If Arachnid decides to do some more upgrading, I don't know how likely he is to come back and look at this thread. In any case it'd be much easier if he could just see it on Uservoice with 40 votes (or what have you). So yeah, do vote.
