I still think it's ridiculous to expect the judges to go through 500+ maps just for the sake of the pack. Good luck on that one.

I mean, it's not that hard. All you have to do is say yes, or no.

confused? basically the map has to be accepted into the map pack. this is to make sure that each map meets the high-quality standards of this map pack.

Yeah, Avarin, I agree with you. What we'll probably do is end up having a rotating judges list, where if someone feels they can't continue, or if they feel they've done enough, they can drop out at any time.

I'm sending out a general PM to everyone in the pack that will hopefully clear everything up. And then we can get started on the serious meat of the pack. We've got all the organization set up, and it is not hugely complex, it just looked that way because we were fleshing it out in this thread, meaning there were a lot of ideas being kicked around that died off or were streamlined. Sorry 'bout that.

Everyone involved in MoA is welcome.

To get to irc:
Open up irc.waypasteleven.com/moa with an IRC client such as ChatZilla (for Firefox, free) or mIRC (Not free, but widely used)

The PM that I got from Erik said that there's a client that's free for Firefox (can't remember the name), and mIRC, which is not free. I don't have Firefox, and my parents are unwilling to pay for IRC. Is there another client that I can use?

Firefox is like a different brand of Internet Explorer, right? If so, my parents aren't willing to do that either. :/

If you wanna visit the channel, make a new tab, Paste

Code: Select all

irc://irc.waypasteleven.com/moa
in the search engine, and press enter. Just like you would to type nmaps.net to get to numa.

Firefox is like a different brand of Internet Explorer, right?
That's just wrong... ;__;

Firefox is /another/ web browser and has nothing to do with IE other than the fact that they're both web browsers. Now I'm in no place to say what your parents are willing to do, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with using a different browser, unless your parents are keeping tabs on you by logging activity through IE and don't want to lose that power... In that case I'd suggest getting another web browser anyways, because that's just wrong.

In any case I'm going to copy and paste what I found on the IRC clients article on Wikipedia:
There are a number of Internet browsers with IRC clients. Opera has a built in IRC client. Mozilla Firefox does not have a built-in IRC client, though ChatZilla, a Firefox add-on, can be installed to provide access to IRC in the browser. Chatzilla is part of the SeaMonkey internet suite.

For novice users, mIRC and other large-window clients can seem unnecessarily large and complex. New users may prefer instant messaging clients like Miranda IM, Pidgin or Trillian that support IRC and provide a familiar interface to the application. Alternatively web based clients such as Mibbit and webirc provide an easy way for people to access IRC.
So... Possible solutions for an IRC client include:
Opera, which is /another/ browser (not a different brand of IE, and I hear it's good)
Miranda IM (Haven't used it)
Pidgin (Don't recommend for a Windows computer), Trillian (Haven't used this either)
Mibbit (not a fan of it being through a site, but if you can't use standalone client, you can't use a standalone client)

There are more alternatives, but these were just the ones mentioned in this section of the article.

For maxson924, Furry Ant, and anyone else who can't download an IRC client, try to use Mibbit.
In the IRC box, click on 'Server', enter 'irc.waypasteleven.com' in the 'Server Address' field, put your user name in the 'Nick' field, put '#moa' in the 'Channel(s)' field, and (finally) click 'Go'.

If it still doesn't work for you, PM me and I'll try to help you out in a less general manner.
