Not reccomended if you're a complete outsider. Get yourself in a weird mood by listening to Aphex Twin and Squarepusher, then some proper oldschool jungle like Joyriders to get yourself used to the over-repetition of the Amen.PALEMOON wrote: if you do decide to try venetian snares, i recommend listening to Rossz csillag alatt született first. it's one of his more 'accessible' albums
Whilst I'm talking about Snares-man, though, let me just say that there is plenty of stuff ever faster/weirder than him in the genre. Xanopticon and Dev/Null especially.

I'm gonna be weird and name an oldie band - The Guess Who.
They are a great folk band and an amazing rock band (Even if they don't do much rock music). Plus, they're Canadian - all the better.
If I had to recommend an album, I would say "The Very Best of Guess Who", even if it's not a technical album, because it has all thier best songs.

We are always searching - I Am Ghost - keyboards and metal, sounds like vamps - *cool melodic metal guitars* *keyboards* "Her beauty watches over me, so let us hide and we'll dance the night away." (oh, and it has both a guy and a girl singing.)
--
On Again Off Again - The Riverboat Gamblers - creepywhiney, just add bop - "It's 6 a.m., out in the clinic line. It's freezing cold, you may get told come back another time. They can help you, but they can't help you for free." (pretty cool song, drug heavy)
--
Oh So Serious - Paradise Boys - boppy dance rock what? - "its all in my he-ead, i said its all in my heart. and yesterday i started thinking, i should have been falling apart. well you think think think that youre something special, so you think think youve got hope. and maybe this time i could be different actually no no no i wont." (kickass song. has a girl singing too, plus bassy drums and clatter-ish synth, give it a go)
--
--
Robert L. Borden - Kamin_Sequence - loopy techno earsex. fuck. ing. great. - *ambient awesome, no words.* (this song is awesome to walk to, the drums are all *bumpbumpbump* at just the right time. id happily rave to it aswell. oh yes i would. the bass is very fun too, bendy and bouncy.. all in all a wonderful song for those into electronic, rave, ambient, walking, or relaxing music. IT IS ALL OF THOSE!)
--
--
Little Maggots - The Matches - the most twitchy rock imaginable - "little maggots, maggots whos parents parents fed me full.. are grown and living, inhabiting, comfortably my skull" "ah HAH. HAH." I was expecting something more like Caravan Palace from that description. They're a pretty obscure little French band. Worth a listen at least once. More songs here: http://www.myspace.com/caravanpalacefingersonthefrets wrote:http://www.myspace.com/malajube
this french stuff is amazingly fun. They sound a bit like a circus.
