dude it's not about having shortcuts on your desktop. it's about having something to drag your things into. something very, very easily accessible :3 like a copyboard
that said, i've given up on litestep long time ago. maybe ill come back to it someday just for nostalgia.
also ew docks
and why your dislike for icons? it's not like having text instead of icons is going to add more "movement" and functionality to a ui

I don't see what's wrong with a dock. They're usually designed to stay out of the way when you don't need them but can be accessed without minimising anything, which is handy in an environment with only one desktop (like vanilla windows).◉ LAZORTITS ◉ wrote:ew docks

I don't dislike icons, I dislike accumulation of crud that comes with a desktop icons approach. It works, I just end up with a lot of icons I don't use whenever I have an explorer-based windows install going for a while. That said, plain text is easier to edit or attach scripts to, and therefore to get more useful information out of.

using a dock in windows only adds clutter! the taskbar works for everything. you can have shortcuts and apps on it. i'm talking about the "old" taskbar here, not the new windows 7 taskbar, that is amazing.Geti wrote:I don't see what's wrong with a dock. If you end up with a lot of icons you don't use, I guess that's a problem of yours, since my desktop is always organized :3

...and then you get surprised at how slow your computer is at startup.Universezero wrote:I prefer clutter. It makes the screen look more... I dunno, technological? Lots of wigets, docks and desktop configs are where it's at.◉ LAZORTITS ◉ wrote:using a dock in windows only adds clutter!

Not just to annoy Donfuy, btw, but that is a bonus.

Haha double burn! But seriously, here you go. The kind of help that keeps on giving!
Edit: Although apparently you won't be able to find it from our screenshots. Oh well, it's still a good site to have. As for the wallpaper, I would give it to you, but Donfuy is prone to get all kinds of pissy (in a manly way) if I do. Also, Donfuy, just so you know I only changed my wallpaper for the 3 seconds it took to take the screenshot :) I like the one I posted prior to that one better.
