I like it too, but Star Trek was a classic.

Star Trek was fun, but a little soulless.

Moon or Fantastic Mr Fox for me.

And Avatar should be on that list simply for the damned spectacle.

I don't think your poll has enough options; I suppose you could add an 'other' option to the end of the poll to rectify this, but then it would be unfair that some films are immediately given priority over others. I'd suggest adding Watchmen, Avatar, Inglourious Basterds, The Hurt Locker, Fantastic Mr. Fox, A Prophet, Moon and WTWTA amongst others.

Anyway, I voted for A Serious Man.

Inglourious Basterds or Watchmen. Maybe Star Trek?

I voted Inglourious Basterds, because it is masterful filmmaking.

That said, this list is bullshit. Anvil came out in '08 and The Hurt Locker is absent.

Watchmen was my favorite. Avatar is the most overrated piece of hmmrphemmrh i've ever seen. I thought Fantastic Mr. Fox was also wonderful. I liked Coraline. Up was very cute. I wasn't fond of Precious, District 9, or Star Trek. There must have been some hidden nuisance that kept me from loving Inglourious Basterds, i just couldn't get as into it as i thought i would. I still haven't gotten around to seeing The Hurt Locker, Up In The Air, Moon, or In The Loop, all of which sound and look very promising.

and so it goes, and so it goes, and so will you soon i suppose.

Honestly, out of every single film you saw that was your favourite?

Subjective is subjective, but that's just disturbing...

Having a poll here is very silly. There were thousands of movies released last year, right? Each one of them is just worthy contender as the last. Only having the Oscar nominated, or whatever your criterion you're using, would be like an album of '09 thread with the Grammy noms as the only choices. Sure, there's the "Other" option, but some films are immediately given priority over others, like Seneschal said. Most people, I guess, will choose one of the options there, but not everyone!

Speaking of which, my obscure art house pick is forthcoming.

No, it would be like composing a list of commonly cited best albums. You would not that there has only been one selection of other, and that's because the film industry works like that. Most people only see major studio releases, and a public consensus is pretty easy.

Well, I honestly do not see may movies. My dad never takes me to see any in theaters. I either have to wait till it is on DVD and check it out from the library (free), or request a movie for my birthday. That's it. Those are the only times I can see a movie really.

So last year, I have only seen 2012 and New Moon (for my sisters b-day). Its a no-brainer which one I thought was better.

My life is a sad life.
