You many recall a while back that I needed help with episode 104. Now I am requesting help for episode 117, specifically on level 1.

I'm pulling no punches on language or harshness.

This level drives me fucking batshit. After having played episodes 105, 115, 106, and 116, I had thought that maybe blue_tetris had a change of heart and was only going to make levels that were challenging but not fucktarded anymore. Clearly I was wrong.

Level 0 was excruciating and kept mocking me because it was basically the same simple jump over and over. The turrets were extremely hard to avoid coming back on the lower path, but after a long fucking time, I finally managed to beat it.

Than came level 1, which almost made me break my very expensive laptop. It's hard enough dodging the seemingly random shitstorm in every room, especially when you are required to GLITCH THROUGH some one way platforms in the very first room, which is such a dick move that I want to rape blue_tetris's brains out. But what really cuts my cock is the door switch, tucked away in a corner behind two one way platforms and two thwumps. The jump is so close to impossible that after trying for hours on end, I have rage quit twice at that point.

HOW THE FUCK DO YOU MAKE THAT JUMP AND GET OUT IN TIME? IF YOU DON'T JUMP INTO THE CORNER YOUR OWN DUMBFUCK SELF, THEN THE THWUMPS PUSH YOU IN WITH NO HOPE OF ESCAPE! SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME THAT THERE IS A SIMPLE TACTIC TO PULLING THIS OFF!

Crying for release from this hell,

YoSniper

From memory, it was a walljump up one thwump which then fired the other, giving you enough time to get it. But yeah, this level is fucked. My least favourite one from the expansion. Rest assured, it doesn't get this bad again.

I totally just read that as, "I'd hate to be the only black guy stuck using v1.4."

Hey, I remember you! The way I got that switch was to make a walljump off the righthand wall of that room from just beneath the locked doors so that you trigger both thwumps on your way to the switch. I ended up about halfway through the bottom one-way. This method lets you get to the switch really soon after the thwump gets triggered downwards, leaving you enough time to fall a bit and escape back to the right.

This was most definitely my least favorite level out of the whole NReality expansion. But don't worry, after I finished this level the rest of them in the column were sooo much easier. Hope this helps.
[16:24] <@golfkid> I'm pretty sure I will literally scream if I die on the last column of 78-4 at this point
[16:25] <trance> Oh, yeah. That level.
[16:29] <@golfkid> lol
[16:30] <@golfkid> It looks so simple
[16:30] <@golfkid> But it says "NO! I will rape your sanity!"

Well I appreciate the feedback anyway.

I managed to figure out a system that works maybe 60% of the time (giving a very generous estimation) for that jump, but seriously, fuck Metanet for leaving this in the expansion. I could see this being a user level for added challenge, but the fact that you are basically required to glitch the game in order to beat the level is just retarded. By this I mean the one-way platforms. You have to have thwumps push you through, and if I'm ever lucky enough to actually get the switch, the next thwump cannons me into the wall and kills me 75% of the time.

Been going on this level for the fourth day in a row now. I managed to get to the exit exactly once, but I only had like 10 seconds left so I figured I should at least try to get some of the gold in the nearby room. Needless to say, that didn't end well.

EDIT: Beat it. FINALLY!!!!! At the end of level 1, I had about 20 seconds on my timer. At the end of level 2, I had 8 seconds. At the end of level 3, I literally had 0.5 seconds left. I was convinced that winning was impossible at that point, but thanks to some generously placed gold in level 4, I managed to beat the episode with just over 3 seconds left.

The maximum possible score in one turn at darts.

Ahaha, yeah. That one's a pain and a half. What worked for me numerous times was to trigger the top thwump first, then jump into the hole while triggering the second one. Gives you JUST enough time to get out. THe other ones in that episode are easy (well ... relatively ...)

You know, I'm not entirely sure about that. Once I was able to consistently get the switch without getting trapped, my next big pain was the part where you have to get the downward thwump to squeeze you through a box of one-way platforms to get a switch (much like the first room but much worse.) About 90% of the time, I would get cannoned out to the side and killed either by the sheer impact, or getting bounced back into the electrical part of the thwump. For this jump, I basically had to rely on luck. I tried to develop a system for it, but because it was hard enough just getting there, I really can't say that I found one.

EDIT: After re-reading your message, I realize that you were referring to levels, not jumps. And yes, the rest of the episode is a relief, with the exception of the panic you get after realizing that you only have 10 seconds or less on your timer.

While I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments on this level, I must point out that Metanet didn't have anything to do with selection the nreality levels (as far as I'm aware), as nreality was developed separately by Unreality, who (I think) was responsible for the choice of levels.

This is true. Nreality is an external mod which had nothing to do with Mare and Raigan. I'm sure they wouldn't have put a lot of these levels in the game, to be honest. ^_^
