The .org version is available, however, and I certainly like the name. I'd suggest the dudes in charge here fast-track acceptance of said domain name.

ninety seconds is an obscure reference to a game that won't be the most major part of the community, soon enough. And it isn't a very good domain, in my opinion, although I seem to be in the minority.Spawn of Yanni wrote:ninetyseconds.org? Yeah. simplictynet.com doesn't sounds really catchy. :/Mute Monk wrote:I viciously agree with Slappy.
However, I'm unable to come up with a better name. Perhaps http://www.simplicitynet.com ...their games seem to be based around simplicity, so...
Meh.
It's a cute reference to the game that started us off. Does it hinder our ability to branch off? Between that and bizarre portmanteaus I definitely figure it's the best suggestion so far.SlappyMcGee wrote:ninety seconds is an obscure reference to a game that won't be the most major part of the community, soon enough. Nobody is trying to disconnect from Metanet, and you seem very defensive about that. I said, very clearly, in my post, that there should definitely be a metanet basis for the URL. Ninety seconds is obscure reference to the game, so obscure that I didn't get it at first and I doubt that many people would. It's the kind of URL that begs people to go, "What?" when they see it in relation to our community. And what I mean by the N game not being relevant soon is in reference to robotology and office yeti, which I expect to bring more users here in the future than N will (since it hasn't been updated in over half a decade. :/)Spawn of Yanni wrote: I still think it's better to include a reference (even if you deem it obscure) to Metanet rather than disconnect from them entirely.
Oh, I never got this. I assumed you were part of that select pool of people who were pretty adamant about the idea that we shouldn't be calling ourselves Metanet Forums because we have nothing to do with Metanet.SlappyMcGee wrote:I said, very clearly, in my post, that there should definitely be a metanet basis for the URL.
I'm pretty sure that pool of the community left forever with Dave.Spawn of Yanni wrote:Oh, I never got this. I still disagree with your hating on the ninetyseconds except for the .com point, where I do admit that .org kinda spoils it.
fsr "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at metasoft.com." Not even any redirecting to a search engine for address failure, so something might be there and just not working.MattKestrel wrote:metasoft.com?
