Not so sure about this, but here goes...

Apt : A Mapping Competition
Hosted by Riobe.

So, the basic idea here is to map. Nothing really special, nothing innovative in the slightest, just a mapping competition with some themes / conditions. Simple, right? Yes. Yes it is.

As far as the themes / conditions go, I dunno, some might be simple some might be a bit more complicated. I already have a few in mind, although they're really not anything special. However, I think you'll enjoy what I'll throw towards you. Some rounds might have one theme. Some might have 5. Some 10. Who knows, you'll have to wait to find out. ;)

--------------------

For now, lets get some basic rules and stuff down:

Rules / Conditions

1. Map has to be completable, and an AGD must be possible. Fuck gold you can't reach. It's lame. >_>

2. Your maps are to fit inside the theme blah blah blah nothing offensive please blah blah blah you get the idea. I mean, for god sakes, it's just a theme'd mapping competition. Oh yeah, and no NReality. Sorry. :p

3. Please don't complain about my judging alright?

4. Each map will be due a week after the round starts. For example, if round 435425 started on October 1st, then all the maps would be due the 8th. This does not mean that you can't submit a map after the deadline. For example, if it was October 9th and I hadn't judged any maps yet, you could still sub your map. However if it was October 9th and I have done the judging, that's a goodbye to you.

5. Ahem. No retiling or reobjecting or stuff like that.

6. Also, from now on (thanks to leaff thanks leaff), tag your maps with apt[#], # being the number of the round. For example, round 3 maps shall be tagged with "apt3", round 32322332446357t2 maps tagged with apt32322332446357t2, and so on. Also, please also POST YOUR MAPS in the thread when you have made them (of course for the exception of aerodynamic who will kindly post a link of his map on one of my maps).

7. <insert "Have Fun!" bs here>

Mhmm. Also, I do realize that this is a really bad time to start (christmas wise and all), but you know, I hope you can participate regardless. Hell, I won't even be on as much after Christmas, but I can assure you that I'll try my hardest to keep up with the judging, okay?

Speaking of judging...

Judging

I will use the following rubric to judge your maps.

Category : x / x : Description

Fun : x / 50 : How fun the map is. Duh.
Aesthetics : x / 25 : How good the map looks. Duh.
Theme : x / 25 : How well the map fit the theme. Duh. Why am I even explaining this

Basic. Simple. Easy. What more could you want?

Oh yes. It's the finals baby.

Apt: Finals are due March 25th, 2010.
This Weeks Theme: The calm after the storm...

One Elimination.

Good luck sirs, I gave you a rather easy theme to interpret, so get creative.

In the case of a tie, there will indeed be a tiebreaker, the specifics of which will be specified when this becomes a reality.. Also there will be a secret judge, whose identity will not be revealed until the judging is posted. Good luck, again, and may the best man / woman / creature win.
