The old threads will be restored when they are ported over from Forumer.

Obviously, we can pick and choose which categories of the forum will be restored and which won't.
I don't think we'll be pulling in anything from BnT, even though it's already archived with the rest.
We may even just pick an arbitrary date and restore everything posted after it.

keep the section but not the posts, it would be better to just wipe the slate in that aspect.

Sure we do.

This style is a bit different, but implementing the old-style spoilers is a possibility.

And the old spoilers used to open even if you clicked a mile away from said image/text. As long as your mouse point was on the same horizontal axis as any part of the image/text and you will find that it opens, go test it.

I reckon the new spoilers are much better than the old ones. But the old ones still had their uses. Maybe we could use both?

It's an extension that blocks javascript, flash and the like, which is why I'm surprised that spoilers work with it.

The old spoilers are nicer, I think. These new ones are a little tacky.

The functionality the old style gave to signatures is going to be missed.

Yup, same with Opera. That sucks, since Opera and Chrome are the only two browsers I often use. The new spoilers (I tested them in IE7, and they worked) are nice, but I like the old ones more.

I think as much as possible of the content of the old forums should be moved over. And I think that if we limit how much is transfered, then we should only moved the very best map packs over.

A few of you don't seem to have picked this up: The old spoilers don't work in any browser, simply because the code hasn't been added to these forums. I do agree with atob that the current spoiler format looks a little tacky.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. It doesn't look like a spoiler at all. For me, the spoiler tag makes the text look and act like a link, except when you click on it, nothing happens (on both IE and Firefox). If that's what everyone else is getting, then I guess I just disagree with you. I wouldn't describe it as "tacky" so much as "completely un-spoiler-ish".

Just sit back, and let everything happen as it is going to happen.

I realize things are still in the works, but Eiturlyf had a good point: the categories seem to be rather permanent. There are no categories for Level Packs, NReality, or N Webcomics, and those are all categories that could have conceivably either gotten the axe or been merged with other, existing categories. So more news on these missing categories would be good.

Oh, I just found something that's different from the old forums, and in a bad way. When you're making a post, you can see the previous posts below. Sadly, nothing shows up when you're editing a post. That will be inconvenient for updating first posts on certain threads.

And finally, there seem to be a problem with quotes for some users. I would have imagined it to be a browser-related problem, but it seems to be user-related, though that doesn't make much sense to me. A user can use the quote tags properly and the code just won't work for that specific post. That user can see other quotes implemented properly and other users can see that the quote tags didn't work for that particular post. Example

The new-style spoilers certainly used to work, but that's all I'm seeing now too, so it seems it's broken.

hmmm.. Well, we're supposed to ask for threads that were old to be reposted, and I wanna request a "new members" thread. Some people, like me when coming from the old forums changed their name, so almost no one would know, unless put in the sig. (or something like that)

Anyways, it would be nice to have one of those for old name changed people, and completely new people to the forum.

It was also very good for announcing the leavage of members, so we could all weep and gnash our teeth as well respected members left us for good.
