Well, i was once on this treeswing that went over the edge of a hill. And the branch broke, and flew off the edge of the near vertical slope twenty feet, and landed knee-first on the very corner of a huge rock. Not good.
Another time i was in a swimming pool, and there was a huge circular float in the pool. It was about 12 foot wide, and i was only 8 at this point in time. Anyways. All the kids in the pool were trying to get onto this float for the most part. It was so crowded that boarding it wasnt actually that easy. After a long time and a lot of effort, i was finally sat in the very center of it. Then some big teenagers came along and rocked the thing until it tipped over. Everyone on the float at that time was trapped underwater. And i was right in the middle. I instinctively swap towards the surface (quite frantically, since i didnt breath deeply before submerging), where i was kicked in the face several times by the other kids who were also swimming upwards. I finally found the top anyway, just as i was about to run out of air. But i then realised something was blocking my way up - i was still right underneath the middle of the float. Frantically, i made a dash towards one side of the float, but it was too late. I'd lost too much air on the way up, especially after my injuries. I was about halfway to the edge when i blacked out.
I woke up lying down on solid ground, with my parents and a lifeguard kneeling over me, wondering if i was dead.

That's bad dude. :/ I'm sorry. For me, worst way of dying is getting out of breath.Destiny wrote:Another time i was in a swimming pool, and there was a huge circular float in the pool. Anyway, probably worst thing happened to me is my skull cracked when I was at 1st grade. Anyway, I didn't felt pain much, surprisingly.

got involved with some crackheads 3 years or so ago, and was hanging out with them when they decided to rob a house. when i said no, they decided to dissociate themselves from me, and the more agressive one stabbed me in the thigh with a pocket knife. i had a pretty hard time hiding the blood from my parents, but i was pretty happy they didnt notice the jeans dissapearing.
anyway, it was a pretty blunt knife, and initially i thought id just been punched or something and then there was a really heavy, pain in my leg. it got sharper as i went home. i cleaned it pretty thoroughly in the shower, and that hurt like nothing else. after a month or so it stopped hurting to walk.
tl;dr: dont get involved with people on crack.

Heh. All of this reminds me of more injuries.
You know you can barely breathe after getting hit in the chest really hard? Well, that happened to me, and the I got gutpunched and barfed. Ouch.

Dude, I remember you telling me about that! There was a mass of bone that solidified and began to grow away from the rest of your leg, so you had to have it removed, didn't you?Destiny wrote:Well, i was once on this treeswing that went over the edge of a hill. Probably the time a brilliant fifteen-year-old scythe33 left half his knee in various parts of the street.
The cops had set up one of those speed-meter things on the street where I lived, and having little better to do at the time I amused myself by trying to see how fast I could go on a skateboard. The answer was apparently 18, at which point the board completely lost any notion of stability and the trucks came loose, which flung me about fifty feet down the road, and I landed on my left knee. I still have that scar. In a similar vein, in a crash, you absolutely do not want to be thrown from the car. Bad idea.
Pads, shmads.

I don't know if it's the most, but it certainly was a lot. Today, I was tested for Exertional Compartment Syndrome. Basically, having ECS means that your lower-leg muscles have gotten swollen from stressful exertion (i.e. running), and the membrane-y stuff that holds onto the muscle acts against the swelling, creating pressure that makes it hurt when you exert yourself. The test to determine if you have ECS procedes thusly:
1) Four small doses of lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to numb the four "compartments" in your lower leg. (Needle count: 4)
2) A shot of saline in each "compartment" from a much bigger needle than the lidocaine one, which was quite small. For reference, the lidocaine shots were 27-guage, and the saline ones were 18-guage. Anyway, this bit gives the doctor the resting pressure present in your muscles. (Needle count: 8)
3) Fifteen minutes of strenuous activity (running).
4) Four more saline shots to determine the exertional pressure in your muscles. (Needle count: 12)
5) Five minutes later, four /more/ saline shots to see how quickly the exertional pressure recedes. (Needle count: 16)
The lidocaine dose starts wearing off by the second round of saline shots. The last round hurts like hell. Despite trying not to move, I involuntarily jerked my leg on one of the last shots, pulling the needle out before the doctor could get a pressure reading. It was done again.
Most pain ever? In a while, at least. My leg still hurts, and I've been told there will be bruising and such. Fun!

Oh, I remember I was on vacation years ago at New Smyrna beach, and the motel my family was staying at was right on the beach, but there was a wall that the motel was on top of, so you could jump down onto the beach. One day, as we were heading to the beach, I jumped off the wall, but I didn't look down, and landed in a bush of one of those plants with the seeds that are balls of spikes that stick on to your socks. My legs were completely covered in them, and I had to stay in the room for an hour, getting them off.
Also, I was biking to the convenience store a few blocks away from my house so I could get some food, and I was going really fast, just because I felt like it. I came up to a corner, and didn't notice a truck going up to the corner. I saw the truck right before it would've hit me, and I hit the brakes. I couldn't really tell how I flew through the air, but when I got up, the guy in the truck said that I flew over the handlebars. I got a huge scab on my both of my legs, and my right arm. I also sprained one of my legs or something, because it hurt to walk the next day. It sucked even more because my bike got fucked up and we had to take it to a repair shop to fix the wheels and the brakes.

Well for me, i remember 2 things.
1. Getting shot with a paintball, point blank, on the inside of my right leg inches from my...*cough*...and the story behind it. A friend and I are out in an open field just shooting at random things, standing next to each other. He completely unloads his hopper, minus 1 shot which got lodged in the loader(how the paintball gets into the barrel, i think thats what its called xD ), he turns to me, at this time the shot dislodges, HEY ETHAN *BAM*, i stood there for like half a second in disbelief that he shot me that close. It ended up bleeding and I had a huge bruise for like a month. And, of course, we had ridden bikes to get to the field so I had a GREAT time trying to get home.
2. Nearly breaking my nose trying to get a basketball. Sounds funny I know, but you have to hear/read the story. So about 4th grade(i graduated last year), a group of friends and I are playing basketball. And at the time our school had construction going on. One of them shoots the ball, misses and bounces over one of them 5 foot orange construction fences. Of course, me being the dumbass I am, thought i could get it by jumping over the fence. I run and jump, catch my feet on the top and fall face first into the pavement. I mean, dead on! Wake up about a minute later, nose is bleeding everyone is gathered around me, i get up and get helped walking to the nurses office. Soon thereafter I went to the doctors office to find out if I broke my nose, the doctor says I came very close but I didnt. Thank goodness, but i can make my nose crack!! xD

Hmm, tough one. Either when i bit through my tongue after being hit by a swing, or bailing horribly off a mountain board and breaking my wrist xxx

Probably trying to run into a park and my friend slamming the iron gate closed on my knee.
Yeah, it nearly broke, close to having to cancel my £900 US Skiing trip with school. But luckily I got the all clear from the doctors to go, during the time I was bored (Couldn't go to school for a week, had to wear some sort of bandage and couldn't really walk or move said leg for a couple days) I decided to sign up to this community, true fact.

Ha, that reminds me. I hit eternal_moonlight in the head with a rock once. Good sized rock, too.Donfuy wrote:I *almost* hit a guys head with a pointy rock, 7 years ago, when playing a game... where you had to throw rocks at each other. Ok, so you know how if you get off the couch quickly after laying there for a while, you're kinda dizzy? Well, that happened to me one time. I was waiting for the dizzyness to go away, as it usually did, and then I woke up with my mom, dad, and bro around me.
Don't think it left a bruise, but it hurt a lot for ~30mins afterward.
Passing out on a hardwood floor from standing up (and I'm ~6ft tall) sucks. At least it wasn't outside on the driveway, haha.
Once my brother was fooling around with my Tech-deck board (finger skateboard) in my room. He was olliying it around over everything under the sun. He tried to make the jump from my bookcase to my bedpost, and he hit the corner of it with the top of his head. Left a hole about 1cm deep and it was bleeding a good bit. He didn't have to go to the hospital, though.

The most pain I've had in recent times would be the massive leg cramp I got while playing basketball, or having liquid nitrogen put on my hand to get rid of a wart.
