Ten days. -_-
No wonder you didn't understand the thing about decade we discussed on that thread.

Sexpython wrote:So, me and the boys have been thinking about how remarkably unpopular the Ninja game is these days. And why is that? Well, who the fuck knows. What's important is, is that we change that and make playing N exciting again!
Eh?
Where on earth have you and the boys been for the last few years?
Is it not obvious why the game has become less popular since the new face of NUMA and the massive lack of moderation of the N Highscore boards?

Let me just recap for you:
  • Top Rated was removed from NUMA; ratings have become worthless; most people only make maps for ratings; newcomers soon find out this is the case and stop making maps; they thus soon forget about N.
  • The highscore boards are full of hackers, so even if you wanted to just quit map-making there is practically nothing left for N...
  • ...unless you come to this horribly unattractive forum (sorry, it just is) and stumble across NReality.
  • But before you can even find these foums you have to find the old forums as NUMA hasn't been updated with the new link. Gosh golly!
Sexpython wrote:We want to see new styles of mapping. DDA's are pretty cool, but why haven't we as a community invented any new kinds of maps in forever? Some people would say it's because the N game can't move any further, and for those people, there are other contests.
Eh?
Where on earth have you... Oh wait, this seems to be starting off like the last quote I replied to. Let me just skip to the recaps:
  • I see at least one kind of new idea incorporated within a map every week...
  • ...but there is no Top Rated system, so nobody bothers to rate such maps; meaning they get hardly any attention...
  • ...and we all know that these days the only maps that really get rated are the N-Arts that don't require any N-opening or key pressing to rate...
  • ...unless you're someone like PALEMOON or sidke who have people dropping at your feet for every map you make regardless of how utterly shit it is for no apparent reason.
--

Ratings were made worthless on NUMA - Map-makers became inactive.
Highscore boards were never moderated - People who never discover NReality don't bother with them.

--

Anyway. Now that that's out of my system; this contest sounds fun, can I join? I notice there are people whose names are struck out.

sidke, I made you a mauve because I couldn't figure out what the actual colour was. So let me know if you like the mauve or we could workshop it.

All stupidity and lolcats aside, what I was saying was that you're going against your word. You're there saying that for this to work it needs 70 participants, yet you clearly have one over. :/

EdoI (#40) has also been crossed out. It does seem an additional place has opened up with the passing of Rhekatou, but I'll leave that up to the Canadian.

I suggest you get rid of the people crossed off the list... like delete it and make it blank...

then replace their names with people that asked "too late" to join.

So: not crossed out BUT deleted and replaced.

Haha, I have to agree. Is there any specified date as to when this is starting? Even a rough estimate? Maybe a week or two? ish? if this was answered already, forgive me for not seeing it and refer me to the page please.

Who's judging this contest? They must be excellent if they are going to help us grow in skill throughout it.

I'm afraid that, due to previously unforeseen time drains, I'm going to have to withdraw from the Administrong 2010 contest.

I'm still gonna do the comments thing though, cause that's alot less time consuming.

Plug: The Map-Rating Group, like the Map-Rating/Map-Commenting Threads, is a part of this balanced breakfast (where breakfast = fulfillment of the map rating/commenting challenge given to the community in this thread).

Check it out if you're interested.
