Does anyone else believe Haiti is cursed?

According to the evangelical broadcaster Pat Robertson it is. Supposedly, Haiti made a deal with the devil. They swore to serve him in exchange for freedom from the French Napoleon. There is no actual proof of this but even if it's true I wish the best to all those innocent folks down there.

When I clicked on this thread, I thought you were referring to the fact that Haiti has an 80% poverty level, gets hit by hurricanes and earthquakes, is wallowing in corruption and instability, and just about has the worst luck of any country in its hemisphere, in which case I would agree that their constant losing streak is pretty weird.

But a deal with the devil? Bull. Pat Robertson isn't my source for meaningful insight on world events.

Yea he's nuts. I just found out he also thinks that the attacks of September 11 and Katrina were not only acceptable, but also justified, because of our current social situations, and was a form of Devine Retribution.

He's deliberately putting the entire blame on Satan and none of it on God, and IMO God is also to blame because God did one of 2 things, either caused the earthquake or just stood around while the whole thing was going on. Not sure which one is worse.

ya its wierd that theres no evidence but still it could just as easly be true that haiti made a deal with the devil i mean what is there population mostly black right well black people do voodo and thats basicly devil worship
