I'm hoping they start Luongo so Marty can have a break.
Also, the Americans are about to pick up at least one more medal for snowboarding. They have two in the finals. (of four.) One Canadian who's looked fantastic, though.

Snowboarding race was epic.

Should be known that the Swiss are all golds, though.

We /were/ expected to medal, judging from all the hype beforehand about how our first ever nordic medal would come that day. I'll admit I don't know much about skiing, but he was thirty+ feet ahead with a turn or two left and the other guy caught him. And the other guy was French.rocket_thumped wrote:No. He wasn't even expected to medal, he kicked soon and died at the end. There was no choking involved, that was a great upset and our first ever medal in that event. ever.flagmyidol wrote:That American blew the gold in nordic combine yesterday afternoon. Great finish though.
EDIT: The most interesting thing I've heard so far this week is that most of the German skiers are cops for their day job. Like, they patrol the Alps or something, I guess.

USA hockey is looking good against Switzerland.

Just so non-hockey followers know, the Swiss are not real contenders. The Underdog is either the USA or Finland, with Canada, Russia and Sweden having the strongest teams this year.rocket_thumped wrote:Snow cops? huh.flagmyidol wrote:EDIT: The most interesting thing I've heard so far this week is that most of the German skiers are cops for their day job. Yeah I saw that too, the outfit he was wearing made his curves look very womanly, it was a confusing five minutes for me. The coolest part of the male figure skating so far was when some dude skated to A Day in the Life (by the beatles) played with electric guitars.smartalco wrote:The amount of fabulous on the american male figure skater on right now (name is Weir I think) makes me ashamed to be an american male :/
The American, Lindsey Vonn skis today, I hope her injuries have healed, she is the favorite.

That was awesome. But Techno was saying something about someone skating to Hendrix, did anyone see that? I missed it.rocket_thumped wrote:Yeah I saw that too, the outfit he was wearing made his curves look very womanly, it was a confusing five minutes for me. I didn't see Hendrix, but a Canadian skater was skating to Joe Satriani.flagmyidol wrote:But Techno was saying something about someone skating to Hendrix, did anyone see that? I missed it.

Nah, nah: Here's a breakdown. Jeff Beck was the one playing "A Day" and J. Geil's Band even got a nod -- from a guy skating in suspenders.Techno wrote:My friends couldn't tell the difference between Sat and Drix? :/ Sorry for the misinfo. flag.smartalco wrote:I didn't see Hendrix, but a Canadian skater was skating to Joe Satriani.flagmyidol wrote:But Techno was saying something about someone skating to Hendrix, did anyone see that? Just to clarify, I wasn't saying that he was skating to the beatles version, but that the song was written by the beatles.flagmyidol wrote:Jeff Beck was the one playing "A Day"
After Day 6
USA - 14
GER - 10
FRA - 7
CAN - 6
KOR - 5
Canada is looking strong, maybe they overcome France in the coming days? Expect South Korea to put pressure on them with a few more skating medals.

Shaun White and Lindsey Vonn were simply unbelievable. Not to mention Ohno and Davis.

Vonn just took the lead in the women's combined by .08 over Mancuso. Go US!
