This totally has my full support, and I hope that the rest of the community will join in. I've been considering it, and I've decided that I will also be joining the cause. Fast with us, and send Andrew your cash! :D

Even if this becomes a community project (that would be really cool) I'm not sure many people would want to join this, I mean, don't get me wrong but I'm sure we all want Cambodian children gain access to safe drinking water, healthcare, food and an education, but I don't think that everyone would want to give money. I mean, dude, I live in a fucking hole,
I fully support this. However my strikethrough'd thoughts above still should be considered as an idea, you know.

Myspace is better for events like this but I don't think that majority of here uses Myspace.Smörgåsbord wrote:We need this to be bigger. Facebook, perhaps?

Erm, no it's not. Aside from the fact that the second part of your post indicates this, did you happen to pay attention to the "Get Rage Against The Machine to Number 1" group that was started on Facebook just before Christmas? Well, they did it. Xmas number 1. Blew the Xfactor try hards out of the water.Tunco wrote:Myspace is better for events like this but I don't think that majority of here uses Myspace.Smörgåsbord wrote:We need this to be bigger. It made the news and papers. What Myspace group has achieved similar?
Myspace is a sinking ship in comparison, it's mostly used by vain teenagers and bands.
I say start a Facebook group and see what you can do. I'll fully support this and donate if I can.

This is great.
I'll be sending you some cash, nothing as much as squibbles though, but I'm glad to help.
Why don't you set up the facebook group, rather than atob?
And edit your second post, with the donations :D

I am considering sending money, and I've snapped a "Might attend" on Facebook. I'll join the group and invite others, if nothing else. Perhaps linky in a status or something :)

I'm definitely in on this - I'll be helping to spearhead this too if ya'll need. I've invited everyone I know on Facebook, and I'll be doing regular campaigns between now and the date to make sure we get enough support.

I'd be more than happy to help out by fasting. No problems. Oh, and expect the money soon!

(Copied from the Metanet Podcast topic as it relates:)
In tribute to the 40h Famine, we'll have a famine-related podcast.
It will be on this Friday at 4pm NZ time (2pm Eastern Australian time and 4am GMT, which should be around 10pm somewhere in the US).
We'll also be discussing (probably) the forum's birthday, NUMA, life in general, and a hundred other somehow-related topics, so be sure to come along and bring all your friends (or just yourself)!
Thanks, and see all (/most) of you there.
Lenny
EDIT: Cha; there's your info. :P

Now playing: Weber - Die 3 Pintos Anh. 5 1 Antr'acte

Good luck with this, though! I'm campaigning around a bit, as well.

I am saddened that cereal was your first food choice though.
Addiction to carbohydrates is very unhealthy.
Still, good job on resisting all that food at the church show, especially with all the other people there that would have been eating.
