Yep. We're gonna have a seeding map to start, and everyone has a week to submit their runs on it and the seeding will be decided from 1-32 (it will be two teirs of 1-16 though, so 0th and 1st are the 1 seeds, 2nd and 3rd are the 2 seeds, etc.)

Can't wait to get this going. If you guys want, you can PM some members you know might be interested so we can get this running faster. Or put the link in some of your map descriptions - anything to get contestants and get it rolling!

eru_bahagon, max_ride, and bhz maybe would like to join if you want to shoot them a pm. Other than that it would just be people from numa who might like to try out a competition. We are running short on highscorers these days. I will try and talk to kryX-orange when he comes through irc next. I don't think he checks his pms.

I'd add Kool-aid, Seifer, and maybe a few others to that list. You might want to have a look at the participants in this thread, as some of them may be up for this as well

No, it hasn't died off at all. I'm pretty sure we'll just go with 24 and have a few first-round byes. I'm just finalizing the maps I'm using and we'll get 'er going.

Any last-minute entries are welcome, but this'll probably be rolling by the weekend.

I have a slight problem. Starting with tomorrow, I will be gone for nine days. If you (hippo) could let the qualifying lap run until the 17th, at least for me, that would give me a day to qualify and stay in the competition. Otherwise I may have to withdraw. Alternatively, the could signup could be extended for one week and then let qualifying run for a week.

well we have 25 now, and 24 is a great number, almost as good as 36
I say we start the seeding now. There is bound to be someone who forgets or doesn't place a demo on it, so that will leave us with 24.
OR we wait for more people.

Why does the exact number matter anyway? Just give the appropriate number of byes so that the second round has 16 players..

Mm, and how is the seeding going to be, i mean, 0th agaist last, etc.. or 0th agains 1st, etc..(i dont understand what is it very well, cause im spanish and i dont speak english very well).

I've got my run up, pretty well satisfied with it. Unless I get knocked out of the top 7, that is. But I'm a little disappointed that only 6 of us have submitted any runs so far. *Prods topic to increase run submission*

I haven't submitted a run because I find it almost impossible to complete, let alone highscore, and I don't think I'm a bad player at all. I really hope the future maps won't be like this, because I'm finding this horribly awkward and not very fun at all.

Mind you, I know what it's like to choose an awkward map as the first map in this kind of competition, so maybe I'm being a little hypocritical here ;) Nevertheless, I hope the other maps won't contain quite so many enemies...

I agree. And since I had the first demo submission, it was owned by everyone elses with different routes.
It took me about 50 tries to get that demo (really), and I'm a pretty good N player.

Did I get that right? We'll have to submit it in highscore mode of nreality? Just asking, because I don't want my demo to be submitted in the wrong mode and not being counted as a consequence...

There are some things I don't like about this map (e.g. getting to the exit), but overall it's alright. However I'd be pleased to see a more enjoyable next map, this one was rather tough (=tuffy), I agree.

Yeah, I'd prefer the next map to be more of a highscoring map, rather than a long map full of annoying drones
