Maybe he's not American and it's supposed to be a souvenir. I don't remember where he is from anyways.

Based on the way you spelled "California", you're either lying or a victim of the CA public education system, which is ranked #49 out of 50.

Amen.
Incidentally, I spent most of my life in California and had a lot of exposure to the public school system. I did, however, attend private middle and high schools.

I was making a reference to what I interpret as socialist tendencies of the left leaning state; a spoof on the acrylic alphabet is what I intended. I however was not educated in California. I've had my 1st grade through sophomore year here in Wisconsin, I actually like the system here to an extent, they could use a little more in the area of political studies here, but I'm content.

Do you see what just happened here, people? Do you see how quickly people seem to gain 30 IQ points when you talk to them like a pretentious douche?
This is why I'm an asshole. I'm making the world a better place.

I wouldn't be too proud. 30 IQ points, sure, but he's still a few sandwiches short of a Comintern.

I don't consider myself very attractive other than having a nice smile. I'm pretty chubby and got a bit of acne plus some man boobs, but I have way more confidence than I did a couple of years ago. Just ask anyone here who was around during that time, LOL. I lost a bit of weight since then and I wear clothes that fit me well and hide my figure, but this is harder for me because I can't just pick up any old t shirt and put it on. I now have to wear more black t shirts. Old Navy's XL sizes are perfect for me. I wear size large button plaid shirts, though, which are great on me.

Anyway the point of this is that at work, I think people treat me with respect and listen to me because I'm a nice person... at least I try to be. I don't get overly dramatic about stuff, I offer help and do things other colleagues don't do ("going above and beyond the call of duty", if you will) because I feel like I should. The "golden rule" is pretty lame, but you know... it's probably true. People are reciprocating my actions or at least sticking up for me when a manager asks them about me or something. Our backroom is shared between other departments and we're pretty tight.

If it's true, then how is it lame?

Biology?
More specifically, genetics?

What I'm saying is: if he finds the Golden Rule to be true (forget whether you find it to be true; I'm simply replying to his opinion), then why is it lame? Does he find it childish, or what? I'm really just asking out of curiosity more than anything else.

Well that's what I've heard or expect to hear from people around my age at work. Yeah, it is kind of childish, because let's face it: lots of people are selfish.

Pavel didn't quite get what I was getting at. Biology is true and also lame.

This reminds me of a friend I used to have who could be compared to you, and everybody outwardly described him pretty much as a sleazy guy to stay away from, yet he still managed to have girls hanging off him. Though he didn't have the intelligence that you appear to have (he is trying to become a mentalist, like the TV show), and rooted anything he could.

I honestly think you'd be better off just knowingly breaking off those conversations which could hurt people you care about, do whatever with the rest, because it's their choice what they do with themselves.
Though your decisions do seem a little odd. You don't want to hurt people who you are not interested in. Theoretically you could stop people being interested in you by giving yourself a bad sorta image, but I feel you don't want to do that, else you would have already done it. Do you enjoy playing around with others, like toys?

Also, this seems to be all about people coming onto you. Why not the other way around? Surely if you started the relationship, that would ensure it lasts longer, as it would be less superficial.

This is so reminiscent of that Spongebob episode where Squidward got a sexy new face.
