I always thought that the single enemy theme made more sense because in Pokemon the gym leaders always used one specific type (right?). But I could see how maybe having some hybrid gyms could be more interesting.

Yeah, I'm a bit in favor of keeping the single-enemy setup myself. Calling it Neditor Nation /2/ was probably not the best idea; it's more of a finalizing of the concept that began with the original contest, which I see now as a sort of beta test. More complex challenges are something I'm definitely keeping on the back burner, though, so it'll still be useful to brainstorm about them. Edit: Actually, lord_day makes a pretty good point about mixing up the Gyms. Hmm.
Also, you can all help out by pestering sidke to code the site! :3

But single enemy type is so limited! And the ideas I started thinking of were linked via a theme - they weren't just random combinations of enemies. Don't forget that pokemon has over 15 different types that could be valid for a gym, while N only has 8 enemies. The fact that we have already had one round with one enemy per gym seems to me all the more reason to mix it up.

I am so in support of this, and I personally think we should have both the gym ideas. Maybe a Johto/Kanto thing?

It just so happens that I'm back. <Scarface quote here> I would be happy to become a judge again, if allowed.

Hello. I am greatly saddened by the stagnation of NN. It was one of my favorite thing about the old forum. The only thing I can really do is try to code the site. I am well versed in java, so I'll maybe be able to do it using a database plug-in (read "extra computer things"). If anyone knows html (used for websites), xml (used for websites), or another website coding language, or can use digital art tools, and would like to help, you are welcome. I may not be able to do fancy looking things, and it may end up being a lot of smoke and mirrors (that's how java is), but it'll be functional.
Edit: Erm, that sounded different in my head, but I'll still try to revive this.

-outside battling will be handled last, as it will be the hardest to code.

I'm a little glad this got bumped, actually, because I missed Brainwasher's post. As it stands, sidke and I are both extraordinarily busy and have very little time, if any at all, to put towards Neditor Nation. Even if we find another coder, I think this will remain stagnant at least until the end of my fall semester, as my classes and running are just demanding too much time from me right now. If somebody steps up, though, I could start chatting with them over IRC during my winter break, so maybe we could start to get things in motion.
I'd probably keep sidke on the roster, so to speak, because he did such a great job with the Memoirs site and his help would be invaluable in getting this thing off the ground. That would probably be more of a supervisor-ish position for him, which I think would actually work better with his crazy schedule (correct me if I'm wrong, sidkers). So yeah. Can anybody out there code a website?
Also, if any of the more veteran members are interested, I was hoping I could get a little group together to throw ideas around and plan the contest out a bit.
I haven't forgotten this, guys. Just need a little help and a little time. :)

Ahh, my favourite competition. I know it's an unnecessary and potentially annoying thread-bump but I just wanted to thank Pheidi for the time and effort he put into this all those years back. Cheers, man!
