I want Italy to win it all. But I think Brazil or Spain will have this cup.

I can't believe I sat down for the entirety of the only game so far that has had no scores across the board.

I am a massive Spain fan, but I feel like I should point out that, Spain are notorious chokers at the World Cup. They've never won one, and they haven't come close in some time. Granted, they've only lost one match since 2006 (a pitiful 2-0 loss to -America-, for chrissakes) and they were amazing at the UEFA deal in '08. So, we'll see. The Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup and they hadn't won one of those since 1961, so anything can happen.

I love to watch Netherlands, I hope they'll go far this time. My second favorite team there is Cote d' Ivoire.
Also, I expect Spain or Argentina to win this, and I'm secretly afraid of Italy, whose style makes football unwatchable, but is often a good way to win.

I expected the States to win, and it was actually more possible than I might have thought.

This cup has been really boring so far, I hope it'll get better soon. Remember the awesomeness of Austria & Switzerland, 2008?

I disagree. We're like, six games in and there have been three memorable ones. USA v. England was good, Ghana v. Serbia this morning was great and right now the Australia v. Germany games has been awesome.

Group C: USA and England
Group D: Germany and Ghana
Group E: Netherlands and Cameroon
Group F: Italy and Paraguay (This group is a joke.)
Group G: Brazil and Portugal (This group is also a joke.)

Germany - Australia match is great, they're giving me hopes. Nigeria - Argentina and Korea - Greece were good, other were mediocre at best. Here you can see how less productive this year's cup is when it comes to goals in the first eight matches:
1998 - 17
2002 - 25
2006 - 18
2010 - 13
And also...

They're like some five-year old kids, I don't think they're even watching the game.

Germany played absolutely beautifully. Uncharacteristically so.

that was a pretty exciting match. each team had about a dozen chances to score, and the Ghanaians hit the post twice!SlappyMcGee wrote:EdoI wrote: Ghana v. Serbia.
