Business: PC repairs.

Ok, so the guy's gone off Glitch Burst, and Booters is already taken as a .com and .co.uk, and, more importantly, it's already registered as a business.

So, we're now looking for suggestions.

Criteria

1. Short, snappy, memorable.
2. Needs to have the .com or .co.uk
3. Needs to carry clear, positive, connotation in relation to the business.

If you guys could help (seriously please) it would be greatly appreciated.

Glitch Burst sounds better. But Booters is a clever play on Hooters.

As long as your friend is cool with a connotation closely associated with boobs in tight shirts, Booters sounds better.

We're in England, Hooters isn't really well known over here.

Then what is Booters suggesting? if it solely is alluding to "booting" computers I think Glitch Burst (which itself seems a little silly) is the winner .

Booters would be associated with booting up, which is a pretty clear and positive connotation.

Glitch Burst is a little more abstract, but it would be something like stamping out glitches?

Who knows, this is just market research for the dude. He's got his heart set on one of these and the other is his second choice. He'd just like to know which people prefer the most.

I voted for Booters because Glitch Burst sounds a little too "out there" for a startup computer repair shop.

Booters is much, much better. My reasoning is this:

1) Glitch Burst is unruly with an English accent.
2) Booters is a play on Hooters.
3) If you do not know Hooters, Booters is a name that sticks with you because it is strange.
4) Booters has better odds on becoming a brand.

Booters, but you must have Clint Eastwood with some spurs as your mascot.

Between just those two? Booters, just barely. But I like the idea behind "Glitch Burst," and if you could find a better, catchier word than "burst" it'd easily be better than "Booters."

Maybe it's just me, but I never really call turning on my computer "Booting it up;" I just say "turning it on" or something to that effect. I guess that's why "Booters" seems kinda stilted and awkward to me. "Glitch Burst" seems too clumsy to catch on.

I like Booters. It's shorter, more memorable. I think Glitch Burst would be a good name for an astheoceansblue map, though.

for some reason I don't think old people furiously jamming ctrl+alt+delete trying to solve their blue screen of death woes will remember to ring up Glitch Burst.

How about "Compile Burst" instead of "Glitch Burst"?

I'm not asking if you like them.

I'm asking you to try to look at it from a certain perspective; which of the two if you /had/ to choose do you think would serve best as a company name?

If I lived in the UK and saw a company called "Booters", I'd think they were a moving company or some other kind of transportation service, but "Glitch Burst" is a poor alternative.
If I had to pick one of the two, I'd go with Booters, I guess.

Booters sounds like just a computer boot company. And Glitch Burst sounds like a technology-infused drug, so I chose Booters.

If you feel like being a sneaky thief, Glitch Busters' domain expires Oct-12, that's not too far away. And Glitch Busters is an awesome name.

EDIT: 1000th post. :P

I like that. Memorable and carries connotation not only of repairing things but the link to Ghost Busters is fun.

I'll put it to him.
