Titus Andronicus - The Monitor is utterly brilliant. It's like Manchester Orchestra meets Los Campesinos.

http://deerpeople.com/ That's their main site, which you should bookmark and set as your homepage. I've bumped up my opinion from "quite excellent" to "absolutely amazing".

Also: I've recently gotten into The Mountain Goats like crazy. His voice takes a bit of getting used to, but after a while, as a friend of mine puts it, "you realize that his voice is just the most beautiful thing in the world". Which isn't entirely inaccurate.

Toad the Wet Sprocket is cool stuff, and awesome name. And I tried some Autolux the other day.

Also seeing Titus Andronicus on the first.

Downloaded this album on the 26th of July after seeing you and Seneschal's recommendation. I too really enjoyed this album, especially the eclectic 7 minute, 53 second track: Take Your Time (coming Home) which I've already listened to 5 times. Oddly, the album was reminiscent of something Neutral Milk Hotel would release, albeit 'Fun.' is more... well... fun.

Take Your Time is a brilliant album closer and really brings together the rest of the album. Glad you enjoyed!

Protomen. Go and get all of Act II: The Father of Death, it is a most engaging rock opera about megaman (or more, the men who came before, wily and light). Fuck I didn't get it entirely the first few times, but I loved it and still do go listen now :)

I don't listen to a regular selection of genres, I just listen to what expresses my mood at the moment.
Image
The latest album by Menomena, the indie rock / experimental rock band from Poland. The album's name is Mines. I enjoy it so far.
Image
Another indie rock band, Sky Larkin. So far so great.
Image
Yet another indie rock / alt-rock single from Corner Shop. I think this is the alternative cover though (I saw the actual cover once, it's awesome), but I can't find the actual cover on anywhere.
Image
Another lovely album by BT. A must-listen.
Image
An alt-rock album from Mark Lanegan. It's relaxing. And the final album (it's actually a single);
Image
A single by Mark Lanegan featuring Isobel Campbell. It's enjoyable.

Yep. Based on the story, with a dystopia interpretation.

I've been listening to "Nightmare" by Avenged Sevenfold mainly (along with the rest of their discography) lately, but I'm always listening to songs by August Burns Red, Dream Theater, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, 30 Seconds to Mars, and the like.

This seems like a perfect example of the Long Tail to me.
People write to me and say, "I’m giving up, you’re not talking to me." I just write them a simple message like, "Never give up," you know? And it changes their life
