Alex Chilton just died. He was the lead singer of Big Star, who invented Power Pop and wrote the theme to That 70's Show, among other things. Others might recognize his name from the tribute song written by The Replacements, included in Rock Band 2.

Tuli Kupferberg, a former Beat poet who went on to co-found psychedelic folk outfit the Fugs, died yesterday at the age of 86. Kupferberg’s health had started to rapily deteriorate last year, when a pair of strokes left him partially blind and in need of around-the-clock care.
