Although I'm the only one I know who has to "unwind" himself when he turns >= 360 degrees while showering, e.g. if I turn clockwise to grab the shampoo and then clockwise again to face forward, I feel like a shithead and spin a circle counter-clockwise to undo it.

I do this too! I never thought I would meet someone who did. I feel like I'm a backwards jerk if I turn a full turn in the wrong direction. I also have to be facing certain directions for doing certain things in the shower, i.e. either forwards or 90 degrees counter-clockwise while cleaning my hair. I wash my hands probably upwards of 20 times in each shower at home. I wash my hands a ton in general, too, but I don't even watch the sidewalk anymore and I never sort anything. Everything has to be in place though. I haven't seen my bathroom setup in over a month now, but I can still tell you exactly where each instrument in my bathroom goes. Same for the computer table and the cabinet next to my bed. I spend about 5 minutes just before I go to sleep making sure my cup is in exactly the right position.

I have extremely mild, self-diagnosed OCD. Sorting candy, CDs, and books is just a part of the package. The rest is not stepping on sidewalk cracks (or always stepping on them, or alternating. It depends on the distance between cracks.), having some weird habits with the microwave/alarm clocks, and washing my hands a lot.

I and every awesome person I know has this behavior -- the alternation of feet to step over cracks, the preference for particular values on microwaves and volume controls... all of it.

I used to tap my feet in a certain pattern, shown by this diagram below (where □=tap and -=no tap, between both feet). Eventually I would tap my feet so that it followed a certain visual pattern, and then would make the same pattern out of the sets, then the sets of sets, etc. It was quite insane.

You know how digital clocks have little segments making up the numbers? I used to give preferential treatment to times that added up to filled numbers, with my favorite being 10:08.

(See, the two segments that comprise the one go into the two missing spaces in the zeroes, thus making something that looks like 8:88 -- full.)

The stepping over cracks thing is all too common -- does anyone feel a need to balance out the amount of scuffing his shoes get? For example, if I'm walking and inadvertently scuff my shoe on the pavement, I intentionally scuff my left shoe roughly the same amount. If I feel there's still a scuff imbalance, I continue attempting to rectify it. On days where I'm particularly particular, I have to actually stop moving at a curb and blatantly scuff one shoe the perfect amount to achieve harmony once more.

I can't think of anything at all that I sort... well, maybe my iTunes library, in which I have the album artwork / artist / album / song title for pretty much every song.

When I was a kid, I sorted out all my lego into different boxes. Each box had a different colour. However, this is less of a disorder thing and more of a practical thing; I often try to make colour-coordinated objects.

Um... I can't really think of anything else... If I ever sort, it's usually for a practical reason.

After allowing the newspaper ink to adhere to the surface for five minutes, I remove the Silly Putty™ and press it onto my face as hard as I can, making sure every account of death sticks to my skin; I allow that pain to become a part of me. Heart pounding, I stare into the mirror and read the obits. off of my face, allowing my own tears to wash away the ink, reminding myself of true human emotion and suffering. The ordeal is so intense that I often black out, and, when I come to, I am collected.
