On the floor above, a woman gingerly gets to her feet. A door labelled "36" is opposite her. She cocks her head at it, as though trying to remember something. She shrugs, reaches out, and turns the handle. She rattles the door for a bit, before coming to the conclusion that is must be locked.
All around the hotel, eyes are opening. Cries are heard. People missing their friends and loved ones. Some fearing that this is an extreme form of torture or kidnapping. Maybe even a terrorist plot. But they all share a common goal. They all want to escape.
This is your story. Daikenkai and I have had an idea, similar to the 100 doors that was played in the old forums. A link can be found here.
The basic idea is to get out, following clues located in the hotel rooms. To begin with, the stairs are locked, and the lifts require "card keys" to operate. The game will hopefully be played by around 20 people, which will then determine how big the hotel is. Sign ups will shut once we have the entire game planned, which will take a while longer, but shouldn't be an excessive amount of time.
If you wish to play, similar to the previous game, post a short "bio" of yourself and your abilities from REAL LIFE. If possible. No superpowers or anything like that. Hope you enjoy it!
THIS IS A SIGNING UP THREAD. I don't mind if you write a small introduction, but nothing beyond that please.

And thanks much to Inspired...Daddaluma wrote: - You are “you”. You don’t have any powers you don’t have in real life. If you’re 12, then you’re 12 in the game. If you’re 35, then you’re 35 in the game.
- You cannot make up anything at all about the game world. Go on what we give you. If you want more detail, then you’ll have to have yourself do some searching around. We’ll tell you what you see and then you can further choose to interact with whatever you find or see.
- If there is stuff that everyone can know just by looking around from their starting spot, We will post that here, so everyone can see. If your character goes snooping around by him/herself then one of us will PM results that should be known only to your character.
- In general, real world physics applies with one general exception: All conversations players have with other players can somehow be heard by everyone on the same floor, no matter how low they whisper and no matter how far away they are. So if you want to keep a secret, you have to keep it from absolutely everyone. If you tell one person, you tell them all. You can, however show someone something, in which case only they could see it. You’ll probably want to do that through me.
- If you’re going to play, then please post a short “bio” of yourself. Just some simple statistics will help. Age, weight, height. General physical characteristics, are you athletic? Do you really like math? Etc. etc. (I suppose you could lie if you really wanted to, and no one would know). No need to go super in depth at all. It might not have any bearing on anything, but then again, it might. So, whatever you want to share.
- You can all feel free to talk to each other at any time, AS LONG AS THEY RESIDE ON YOUR FLOOR. Share what you know. Whatever you want. But if you want to do something other than interact with the other players you have to do it through one of us.
Feel free to ask all the questions you have as we haven’t completely thought up everything yet. The game has not started yet, so don’t go interacting with each other just yet. Don't ask about the storyline though, stick to question about the mechanics of the game.

I've studied BASIC calculus. EXTREMELY basic.
So how do we play?

Reasonably athletic. Could hold my own in a race against all but the serious athletes really. I did freerunning for a year or two, so i'm pretty evasive when i need to be.
I'm pretty intelligent I guess. Play guitar. Brown messy hair, moderately good looking unless I open my mouth in a photograph -.-
Not so good at sports, but not that bad either. Good at maths, but only when i can be bothered, which is rarely. I always take the easy option.

flag woke up. Or rather, he attempted to, and found painfully that the room he was in had a ceiling roughly five feet off the ground. Worse, there was no light, no room to maneuver, and judging by the sounds filtering through the metal walls, Jason Bourne was next door engaged in hardcore sex.
My characteristics include height, an affinity for pot, post hoc logic and a beautiful singing voice.

Very athletic. I sprint, run, play tennis, soccer, etc. I'm pretty lazy though.
I'm above average intelligence for my age. Probably on the level for this forum. We are a smart forum, after all.
My interests include gaming, electronic music creation, Photoshop, Inception, etc.
EDIT EDIT:
Atlas wandered through the dank corridors, making his way to nowhere. He stared out of the worn double-glazed windows to the ground below. The rain pelted down, filling the hotel with white noise. Out on the pavement out the front, two cars were parked, both barely visible through the downpour.
Atlas continued his walk. He had no idea how he’d gotten to this strange hotel.
He’d woken up in a cramped two-room suite, lying heavily in a small cot. The wallpaper glued onto the walls around were a damp blue colour, suiting the room perfectly. Some clothes that weren’t his had been left in two small piles next to bed for him. The headache he’d had had thumped against the inside of his skull for half an hour. It was then he decided to go for a walk.
During the walk, he’d figured out a few things. The hotel was seemingly far away from civilization… although he couldn’t be certain. The hotel itself was old and musty. The double glazed windows helped keep the draft out, but also blocked a possible escape route.
On his floor, there were roughly five sets of stairs. They were your standard fire escape stairs, although all the doors into them were locked. There was an elevator on his level too, although the only way to enter it was via a key-card swipe.
He’d searched the entire floor, but there wasn’t a single operable door. All the other hotel rooms were locked. Atlas wasn’t sure if there was anybody in them… although he thought he’d heard some muttering at one point.
With nothing on interest in the seemingly abandoned corridors, Atlas took to analyzing outside. During five minutes of watching, one car had come in and parked. Two had left, and one had stayed put. All the cars were black; they looked like BMWs. Atlas wasn’t sure – he wasn’t really a car kind of person. However, this indicated that the cars may be company-owned or something of the like.
Atlas took out his ID card; it was the only thing that he still had on him besides his clothes. Date of birth - 1994. Gender – Male. Ethnicity – European. And a small mugshot of him with a rather stern face. He slipped it back into his pocket.
With nothing else of interest left to see, Atlas returned to his room to await his apparent captor. He pulled his Tribly down over his eyes, and marched off.

I cycle a lot and my legs are pretty solid so any door kicking can be done by me.
I'm also ridiculously good looking. So much so that people stop and stare. It's basically a superpower.

Kind of fat, but not overly so. Recently taken up jogging, surprisingly good stamina, but not really that great or anything. Computer science major in college, able to program in Java and C++, very basic web development knowledge (as in I kinda know HTML and CSS). Good memory, remembers more from AP Biology than he'd like to. Plays a lot of videogames, decent reaction speed. Has watched too much MST3k. Has memorized the rules to Risus, the Anything RPG, so if we get terminally bored and find some dice, we're in business, even though we're probably supposed to be escaping or something. I'm not particularly good looking or anything, at least as far as I know.

LV thought loudly.
"Every night, the same damn dream. You wake up on the fresh-vacuumed red and blue carpet floors of this old hotel. Florescent lamps sit around and watch TV with the dead of night. The weatherman said it rained in the city earlier today, but inside it's as hot and stuffy as a Greek prison. I guess the vents here are rotten too. At least this place smells better than mine, though."
The old man he bellhopped for paid ten different cleaning ladies to keep his building in order. They washed until the laundry machines smoked and begged for mercy. You couldn't breathe half the time from the bottle-bred freshness of all of it. They mopped and scrubbed and polished till you could see your reflection in the lemon-scented dust.
This place just smelled like a fancy living room in need of a stern dusting. That, and carpet. LV reached for his hat and rolled over off of his face. He looked around - with a face not overly kind or overly mean, just a face waiting for the next set of bags to haul up four flights of stairs - and plopped a red hat on top of his sweaty head.
But this time felt different, he thought. His armpits itched. His throat was parched with cotton mouth. This was different from the other dreams.
Yes, I read the rules. This is my bio.

The last Metroid is in captivity. The galaxy is at peace...

Not too sporty; I can run quite fast, but not for very long. As for intelligence, I guess around average for the forum. I'm more of a Science person than a Maths person, however.
