Hey Blur players!

I'm finding this competition really enjoyable as I'm sure you all are and it's definitely got me in an N playing mood.
Basically, you're reading this because I proposed this idea (which I plagiarised from the Australian Football League finals system!) for the final 8 players :D
Image
Van agreed to use this system to determine the winner of Blur.
Now, my question to you is this: Do you think the points earned during the first three rounds should rollover to the end of round 5 to allow for a more accurate assessment of a player's success in this contest? or disregard any points earned in the first 3 rounds entirely and just use the sum of the scores of each player in rounds 4 and 5 to determine seeding? (Under both systems, four players at the end of both round 4 and 5 will be eliminated).

How it works

Week one
1st Qualifying Final: 1st seed hosts 4th seed
2nd Qualifying Final: 2nd seed hosts 3rd seed
1st Elimination Final: 5th seed hosts 8th seed
2nd Elimination Final: 6th seed hosts 7th seed
The 8 finalists are split into two groups for the opening week of the Finals Series. The top four teams have the best chance of winning Blur play the two Qualifying Finals. The winners get a bye through to Week Three of the tournament to play home Preliminary Finals, while the losers play home Semi-Finals in Week Two. The bottom four teams play the two Elimination Finals, where the winners advance to Week Two away games and the losers' seasons are over.

Week two
Starting with this week, all matches are knockout rounds, because the second chance only applies to the first week.
1st Semifinal: Loser of 1st QF hosts winner of 1st EF
2nd Semifinal: Loser of 2nd QF hosts winner of 2nd EF

Week three
1st Preliminary Final: Winner of 1st QF hosts winner of 2nd SF
2nd Preliminary Final: Winner of 2nd QF hosts winner of 1st SF

Week four
Grand Final: Winners of 2 PFs play to determine the Champion of Blur.

In the event of a tie, the player who submitted the run first is the winner.

I'll just add, that this is unofficial voting, but i'll take it into consideration.
If there is 1 person voting for 'only 4 and 5 rounds', the poll becomes irrelevant, since i didn't announce at the beginning of the blur, that the scores from first 3 rounds would matter something later on. If that makes sense.
edit: i'm not voting since i don't care since i'm in top 3, but i know not everyone did his best in the first 3 rounds

Really ?

:D

I've voted that, but it doesn't matter. I'd rather forget the frist 3 rounds.

Well I'm not counting the vote unless the person who voted "ignore rounds 1-3" posts here :P

It would have been nice to include all the scores but since there was no announcement at the start of the competition about it I voted to ignore them.

Nice system but the rounds have very strange names. The "Preliminary finals" should be called the semi-finals because there are four people in it playing two matches. The thing that you call the "Semi-finals" is definitely not the semi-finals because it has 6 people in it. It should be called... um... Third-finals? Bleh.

hehe.. I just used the same names as the AFL does for simplicity

(fyi the first round of finals is called a qualifying final or elimination final depending on whether you finished top 4 or not.)
