Eh, ten times to you or at you. A few thousand just around the community in general.

Panda rape is funny. And, it's in HD, so it's better, isn't it? Huh?

I acknowledge the following:
  • This thread is about homeschooling.
  • This subforum has nothing to do with computers or technology.
  • I could find the answer to this with a bit of Googling.
  • Knowing the answer to the question I'm about to pose will not it any way influence my (strongly negative) opinion of DOS or its derivates.
But:
Is it possible to run a windowing system on top of DOS (or DOS-like OS) that isn't pre-NT Windows?

I wanna say no.

You appear to be unaware of GEM (last updated Nov 1988; when I was 6 months old)!
But yeah, that's all I could find in the way of windowing systems for DOS.

While I realize that this isn't really what you were asking, I've always been impressed by MenuetOS' ability to run off a single floppy.

Whoah. They even have DVD playback support and games like Doom and Quake (on secondary floppies, perhaps?).
That is seriously impressive.

I'm willing to bet that every single one of those developers is heavily bearded.

I would not be surprised if Doctorow had a hand in this.
