flag: nobody insulted you even slightly. Chill. Also salvia is legal in Georgia but they don't sell it in any head shops around here. And there's a ban that has already passed the Legislature and is awaiting the Governor's signature.

If you're wondering why I'm not dealing with maxson, it's because he didn't answer my question, and I have better things to think about. I mean, read my post, then read his post, and you'll notice that what he said bears no relation on what I said.

My doctor almost prescribed me two bottles of vicodin by accident, but the nurse caught it. It doesn't really matter anyway because I still have leftover pills from six months ago when I got my toenail removed for the first time. So right now I have around thirty vicodin pills, but that's really the only narcotic I've every tried. Though I may be trying brownies for the first time this weekend. I also have a lot of catnip lying around, which I've considered making tea out of (apparently it has mild numbing effects) but that just seems desperate.

You just couldn't let it go, could you, Maxxxon? Look, unless you're paying over a hundred dollars for your 25 fluid ounces of vodka, don't tell me that you "like the taste". You're drinking a run-of-the-mill, banged-out, mass-produced alcohol. Go, look around the interwebs a little bit and see if you can find what experts describe as the taste of low quality vodka. Almost unanimously it will be described as "burning" or some variation thereof. Some will even go so far as to say that these vodkas don't have a taste but a texture. Why do you think Smirnoff sells flavoured vodka straight off the shelf? Because without some additive, low-end vodkas as basically just ethanol and water. You might as well be drinking rubbing alcohol.

Same with pretty much any low-end alcohol, really. Ancient Age whiskey is basically rubbing alcohol that's been run through a block of wood for "taste". There wouldn't be such a thing as mixed drinks if alcohol were actually tasty.

You presume he has a common preferance in taste. When I smoke (which is extremely often), I only buy the cheapest pack there is. It's dirty, tastes foul and is fucking harsh, but goddamit I'd rather smoke that than something that tastes like air. If I wanted air, I'd just breathe. Having said that, I know that very few people agree, and very few people's favourite brand is the crappiest, bottom of the market throwaway shit. I presume the same could apply to booze.

It's worse than you think:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SKYY_vodka
Bulk ethanol is delivered in railroad tank cars to Frank-Lin's railroad siding near the San Jose rail yards. The ethanol is mixed with filtered and deionized water, flavoring is added, and the product is bottled using a 42-head US Bottlers Machinery Company filling machine to ensure uniform product level.

Er... as a social alcoholic, my drink of choice is a vodka tonic because I prefer to taste the alcohol in what I drink.
Although it's admittedly not because I think vodka is tasty so much as my preference to know unambiguously with each sip that the vodka is, indeed, a substantial portion of the drink.
Juice-based mixed drinks often end up tasting like diluted juice to me, which is less preferable to me than juice which is clearly spiked, even if it's only tolerable in sips. Because this often requires overpowering quantities of alcohol in the drink, I go with vodka tonics because I can identify the level of alcohol in those at a lower concentration.

Then again, I doubt that this is what maxson was trying to say. Seems to me he was actually claiming that vodka was tasty, which is a quality of vodka that I will obviously deny.

I too like to feel the smoke as it goes down :D However, I buy Marlboro Reds and just take the filter off. The result is a cigarette that tastes decent but still has a respectable amount of harshness.

Just one more thing. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) has the following to say about vodka:
The standard for vodka provided that it was neutral spirits distilled from any material at or above 190 proof, reduced to not more than 110 proof and not less than 80 proof and, after such reduction in proof, so treated as to be without distinctive character, aroma, or taste. Although no explicit definition of the term "distinctive" could be found in the hearing record, the testimony indicates that vodka is to be as tasteless and odorless as possible.

I've tasted rubbing alcohol before and I enjoyed that too, but to my knowledge it's a lot more dangerous to drink than straight-up vodka, so I don't.

I honestly don't really give a shit what any amount of links say. If I enjoy the taste of vodka, no words on the Internet are going to change that. Also, this.

Right, because anyone who holds an uncommon opinion on something must be a troll.

Well, I do admit it took two tries. I wouldn't call only two tries an "acquired taste", though.
