I don't know why, but massive walls suddenly emerged from the ground, boxing in the whole of Oysterville with me inside. All I have is my trusty compass, the eyes in the back of my head (to the sides, too), and my x-ray vision to realize that I'm in the northwest corner of a whole city whose populace has transmogrified into ZOMBIES!!!

Thankfully, I have my trusty Beretta, but I know its 50 bullets won't last long. I regrettably had never played Left 4 Dead (dang!), so I'm at quite a disadvantage when it comes to facing a generic zombie outbreak. I did read into Max Brooks' Zombie Survival Guide, so what I do know is that I have to quickly learn how to secure buildings to rest and work in as I search for food, weapons, and shelter. I also need to grab a city map and figure out a way to escape this infested city!

... I just hope I don't panic myself into oblivion first. What a horrifying situation! I need to find a bathroom.

Get the rogue-like Omar's Oyster Outing! (I got the 1.1 ZIP.)

Rarer items discovered that aren't described in the F1 list can usually, like for grenades, be used by pressing the first letter of the item's name in correspondence with the mouse on-screen (though majority play for me was mouse-less). The entire city is 1000x1000, which helps coordinate your location in the city alongside important structures; your current whereabouts are shown via the centered bottom part of the HUD.

All the help/information keys are F1-F5, which is a shame because for some reason F4 always closed the game for me when releasing the key (even without touching Alt). Thankfully the game auto-saves across sessions, but, like the ASCII RPG "ADOM," death (or, in this case, zombification)... is permanent. Ooh.
Favorite weapon of choice: the leather arm handle/strap to a women's handbag/purse.
