Being a member of the PC master race (outside of Rock Band), if I wanted to play this, I'd play it on PC. The following image, taken from the PC demo, should tell you why I'm completely uninterested.

OMG, this is sad. It took me a full 2 minutes to see that. WTF ... that would piss me off as well while playing ... are there save points for it or can you save and reload at any point at any time (from that pic, I'd fathom that option 2 doesn't exist)

EDIT: As was I, entwilight

I thought smart was referring to the fact that PCs don't have start buttons. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have no idea what he's talking about. Looks like a normal start screen to me.

Anyway, I got the demo, and I'm very impressed with it. Gameplay seems smooth, guns are good... I'll come back with some more specifics when I've playing it more.

corrected. and no, im not talking about controllers for pc, start buttons exist in pc games (usually enter, or the fire button). and ALL demo's have that disclaimer.

if they dont have the power struggle game mode that they had in crysis or crysis wars im only hyped for the SP. the MP looks nice but it feels like they are trying to copy CoD too much :/

Edit: am i missing something? is there a pc demo? not talking bout the multiplayer one, but a story demo

To whatever key Crysis 2 has bound it to. Ill take this as sarcasm (or that you just dont like shooters) cuz this is no reason to be dissapointed with a game, other then the fact that i feel game developers are exploiting the money hungry nature of consoles.

if thats the case for Crysis 2 then im not excited either. my fear is that it will be shorter then the previous titles, and they will muck up the multiplayer and go for the DLC path.

Fuck the DLC path.

Unless its like VALVe's DLC, which is free (L4D2 IS NOT DLC! It is its own game; if you still argue this, get over it already)

No I wasn't being sarcastic. And no other game I've played on my computer (that wasn't being emulated) has told me to 'Press Start'. That image is a good summary of everything I've heard about Crysis 2 on the PC. Which is that the bare minimum amount of effort was put in to porting to the PC. Other stupid things it does: FOV is locked at 55 degrees, DX9 only rendering from a studio that once created a game with such high graphical fidelity that no one could run it maxed for 2 years, auto-aim is enabled by default (what is this shit, I have a mouse for a reason), etc. Here's a whole thread basically dedicated to laughing at this mess: http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic. ... &t=1138052

YOU LIE!!!! There's no way a studio would do only DX9 nowadays. Windows 7 (with DX11) is getting much more popular nowadays. There's no way that will stay. They better do a proper port of it.

So was doom, and you could play that with a mouse. But ... I know ... this isn't doom. This is a big studio shooter and if Duke Nukem 3 (1997) had auto-aim toggles, then you expect it from here. Why didn't they go the HL2 route? Improve graphics and everything, instead of reducing the quality of everything.

As far as I can see, the DX9 thing is A) just a rumour and B) even the rumours say that DX11 support will be patched in post-release.

so does halo and all the CoD games (for consoles). but this is a demo, not to judge the final outcome but you said exactly what ive said and feared about this game. that it would favor the console and give piss all to the pc gamers.

thats worse case scenario but after MW2.... you know what, after EVERY COD GAME after CoD4... i have no faith in once great PC titles turned sequel.

but as a gamer i must have optimism for this game, ive followed the story, and im not a PC elitist so as long as they dont fuck up the game itself i dont care what port its running off of.

and gamespy isnt that bad, it kept C&C: renegade servers alive and running so ill take that over MS Games for Windows Live anyday.
Oh and I won't be playing the demo, I will buy the game though. It's Crysis, it's the original pensu length test of your PC's manhood.
played the demo once, i want my Power Struggle back please

yeah i honestly dont know what the hell you guys are bitching about, it looks like a good game to me.

and, as a member of the pc master race as well, dont be nit picky over a beta start screen. enter has always been my start button, if it didnt take left mouse button as well.

i just bought it on steam so i guess ill find out for myself

Same tired FPS shit. No real config tool included with the game, had to use a third party one. Really not a great game. Would not buy.

graphics are amazing as fuck, but it definately has a more linear feel then its predecessors. theres parts that have vehicles but theyre only good for 50-CAL MG harvesting, as theres usually a truck or building blocking the streets. there was like one level where i could drive and i ended up walking instead.

as far as action goes its pretty full of it. story takes a few twists and turns, lots of firefights and battles both with a private security force and the seph, lotsa new weps and gadgets (kinda pissed about no dualies on any of the pistol class tho)... i dunno what tanner is on about, im thoroughly enjoying myself even if its not the crysis i was expecting. its a nice ride (still on that ride in fact, 2nd day playing the SP campaign) and even tho i miss the lack of free roam and vehicles its something i can live without. but dont misunderstand, theres PLENTY of "vertical" freeroam as many areas have several levels extending to the rooftops of new york sometimes and routes in and underneath the sewage tunnels. as the city gets more fucked up the routes become more chaotic and random, most of the time due to explosions or realtime cutscenes.

as for the multiplayer, ill get back to you on that....

as far as being a great game well yeah, i think it is. i dont regret buying it at all. by far its the most visually stunning game ive played yet :D

EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCh13zhU_uc best watched at 1080p, let it buffer if ya have to. i dunno wats up with the sound, musta glitched in recording. tried to record my own but crysis 2 kept giving fraps a heart attack XD

ok scratch that, this game is a piece of shit. i layed all my hopes in the multiplayer and what do i get? 16 max players and a crap load of hackers.... is it matchmaking or dedicated servers? feels like matchmaking, shitty all over.

like, i honestly came here looking for just one person to say one good thing about the game so i wouldnt feel like shite for wasting 50 bucks (like i wasnt gonna buy it ANYWAY, right? lol.... of course i was). i mean, the singleplayer is good and if they're smart theyll make the 3rd with nomad.... and make it freeroam for fucks sake.
otherwise im happy with cryengine 2.

END OF LINE.
