Not anything too serious; just me playing around. It's essentially a button wired to a door, and when your press the button, it opens the door for ~6 seconds as opposed to the usual 2. Not a hugely impressive feat; I've made some better circuits that I might put screenshots up of.hairscapades wrote:What does that redstone circuitry do?

I've been trying to see how I can clear out part of an ocean so I can make this. While I probably won't ever actually finish, I'll post results as I go along.
EDIT: PROGRESS! Projected finish date: 2034

My second and far more complicated minecart station. I'm very proud of it and it works fabulously.
This is the view from outside as you're coming in on the skyway.
Top level. Where you catch the train.
Two shots of the second level where I spent the most time building. It's a huge clusterfuck and I can still hardly believe it works.
The simple lower level with the redstone.
A shot of what it looks like when it sends a cart up and also a shot of the entrance to the skyway.

There's quite a bit more things underground which I can't point out; I may try to get screenshots of those too.

So I just bought this game about 6 hours ago.
Why is the internet on a giant crusade to waste all of my time.
Anyway, I found this thing, because I built a house, then wondered off, and forgot where my house was and wanted to find it. That thing builds a Google Maps style map of a minecraft world, and is awesome. Second link in the readme has a bunch of gorgeous examples.
I'll probably be popping in #minecraft occasionally now, see what you guys are up to.

That is kinda excruciating to find your way back to your house. I finally learned to put 3-4 high markers wherever I go.smartalco wrote:So I just bought this game about 6 hours ago.

Woo! I finally got the mods I used to use to work again! I love my minimap so much. Even better, however, is the fact that I can see TWICE as far when I turn off the fog. Mods are so nice. I'll post some pictures when I get back to my dorm.

Seriously enjoying both my Portal texture pack and the Portal Gun mod. Just having the portal gun and the ankle braces (no fall damage!) is useful to have around playing Minecraft normally. Currently working on making my own version of Aperture Labs.

Whenever I get my computer, I'm going to be all over minecraft. Like near-addicted status. So I'm completely down for a new server (I was unaware we had an old one, but whatever :P)Inspired wrote:I'm keen for a server restart so as to inject some life into this side of the community. Oh, hi by the way.
