Hi All,
I never thought that I would be attempting to say something like this, and it is with great regret that I am – in fact, I can recall specifically thinking of the phrase “No one truly leaves Metanet” and believing that I would never leave (clearly thinking along the same lines as Peter Pan).
Long story short, I’m just too busy to be here all the time as I once was (and naïvely hoped that I would be once School ended). Uni takes up too much time (despite the fact that there’s much more work that I should be doing), work takes up a lot of time, my new-found relationship takes up a lot of time, trying to do even more music (as always) takes more time than I wish it did, and attempting to keep in touch with school friends (which I’m generally failing at) takes a lot of time.
So, am I leaving? Not… really. I’m still more than happy to manage the podcast, and will occasionally drop onto IRC or catch up on the Music (“Yellow Peppers”) and Community Projects (“Black Olives”) forums when I get the time.
I’d just like to note my (obvious) state of disconnect, somewhat requesting to be made a Cool Guy, and take a moment to say thanks to a few people for my more prominent time here:
Kablizzy. The big Matt-dawg. I believe that it was you that first made me a noticeable member of this forum, so thank you.
Maestro. Dash. Sir Ortsz “Peacock” Q. Dunn. I’ve felt more close to you than I have to most other members of this forum; thank you.
LittleViking. Kev-kev. For all the help with the server stuff - I couldn’t have done the Metanet podcast (or my own, for that matter!) without you. Thank you.
Yanni, Spawn Thereof. You are awesome, friendly, and inspiring. Thank you.
Mare and Raigan. You two are incredible. N inspires me to do better at Computer Science (believe me, I really need all the motivation that I can get), and without you two (and the game), this forum would not have existed and I would not have had all of the opportunities which this has given me, nor the amazing interaction with you. I hope that I can be helpful in the future. Thank you.
Borealis. “Dave.” For enhancing my understanding of music, thank you. Even if you weren’t really you and so you left for ever.
KingAlex, your Royal Highness, and Ska, Ben “DJ” Schultz. For the podcast, which without the two wouldn’t have started nor continued, thank you.
Blue_Tetris. Dave. Associate Professor, Dr. Davinski “Tetrovski” Blueman. One of the more pressing higher-ups, there’s no doubt that you had a pretty big influence on me. Thank you for what you’ve allowed me to achieve, and sorry for taking up Vent space.
Southpaw, Hands Down-Under, thank you for your amazing imagery and for the podcast picture. And, of course, you’re always friendly.
Fingersonthefrets and Fractalchaos, for some reason I just feel closer to you both than many other forum members; thank you.
Usaswim, for your amazing signature, which I think I will continue to use for ever (or at least for a very long period of time), thank you.
And to everyone else that I’ve had the privilege of interacting with here. A lot of you didn’t get a mention (even though you all should), although I could list several more names from memory, but then there are so many more that have faded over time (seriously, did you see how old-school that username list was?), and that brings me back to square one:
Thank you, community, for enriching my life.
I will no doubt still be a part of this in the future, and I hope that I may be useful to many of you as a friend, or as someone who can help you with something (... probably music), or if you just want someone to talk to.
If you want (and haven’t already), you can find me on Facebook, Twitter, Google+; check out my site and subscribe to my podcast or blog; or, of course, just email me at [email protected].
All the best for the future,
Leonard “Lenny” Weiss

What I listened to while writing: Gorecki’s 3rd symphony (A Symphony of Sorrowful Songs). For those of you that are into more minimalist, somewhere in the vicinity of ambient music, check it out.
P.S. Communist (“Matt”) proof-read this for me, and pointed out that it reads somewhat like a suicide note. I’d like to point out that I am in no way depressed, and am in fact extremely happy with my life. But to put it rather bluntly, I’m sad to be admitting that I just don’t have enough time for this forum as I used to, and I certainly don’t have as much time for this (or anything else) as I would like to. Which I suppose was all I really needed to say, but oh well.

I don't think I ever talked to you as much as I would have liked, but we had some cool discussions about classical music a few times (and on that note, that Gorecki symphony is rather good; I've listened to it a bit recently as well). Oh well; you will most certainly be missed.

Man, I never thought I'd see the day when someone who joined after I left would leave. That makes me want to stab something.

You were so incredibly nice to me, and (whether you know this or not) you helped me get through a lot of stuff. I hope I can repay you someday. Good luck in the real world. <3 Mat

Aww, man. Don't leave, Lenny. You're awesome. Not to mention, I can't really think of many people in this community who are as enthusiastic as you.

Wow, I completely forgot I used to use that username - I've been using this one pretty much exclusively since that one time on IRC someone(s) got pissed at me for having outrageously long nicks.Lenny wrote:Fingersonthefrets and Fractalchaos, for some reason I just feel closer to you both than many other forum members; thank you.
Sucks to see you're leaving, even though I haven't been part of the community here in... what, three, four years? Anyway, it's good to see you're doing pretty well for yourself. We totes have to catch up some day soon.

Hold on, just to clarify, I'm not leaving-leaving. Just mostly-inactive-leaving. Still around... but... barely.Papa John wrote:Man, I never thought I'd see the day when someone who joined after I left would leave. That makes me want to stab something.
And thanks for all the cool messages guys.
