It is faster. Also the ending could be done a lot faster, but it gets hard because 8 tiles aren't very cooperative when jumping on them

... I tried it a few times last year with the bbbwj and concluded it was about .300 slower... Maybe I was doing it wrong. :/

Ok, I was doing it wrong, I was going from the bounceblock to the 2nd circle and not the 4th. Might try sometime, but I'm in no state of mind to play this level again in the near future.

The .app file of NReality works on a mac but it lags like hell :/
Even the real N v1.4 lags. ms/f is about 17

Even the first "weird" jump, I remember trying it. I'm pretty sure it's useless. It was L3X's style to do tricks like that.
What is funny actually, it's that it was the route xaelar used a while ago -like everybody else-, when I took this 0th for the 1st time. (probably in late 2007 -don't have access to the exact date, but before I found the forum-, with 148.7 score, beating a 148.3 of xaelar)
I guess ska remembers. After that, people starts using the same route as me. However it is not mine, I'm pretty sure someone used it before I took the 0th, even if when I took it, no one was using it anymore. Like ska nowadays. That's why the history of this level is funny, only 2 routes known from the very beginning, and after all these years, we are still not sure of which one is faster. Apparently, I wasn't using the correct one^^

The history of the 0th so far I remember : (this level is my first 0th, I have no file to prove anything, I recently moved to Barcelona, without my personal computer)
If you can access to some old runs, you'll see that clux was using the same route as ska today, with a 148.1 (148.175 or 148.075) score. It then gets beaten by xaelar (148.325). Then me, then 233234 by one frame, then xaelar by one frame, then me again by two frames. (these 3 0ths the same week, it was part of a contest like beating xaelar 0th)
Until a few weeks ago when you beat my run ;)

PS : yeah, long history. Feel nostalgic about this level^^

Firstly, Eru! It's terrific to hear from you again! It's been a while...
I certainly recall a lot of the history you mentioned on this level. I remember when xaelar's 128.325 run seemed insurmountable! I don't remember L3X doing the jump at the start, but it might have occurred to me subconsciously. There is a reason why I do it on my current run -- and yes, it's slower! (I know this seems very counter-intuitive, but hear me out!) The reason it's slower is the precise reason why I use this method. Like most highscorers, a one tile double jump is a cinch. It also gives me a consistent projection of my run which allows me to get extremely close to the drone in the top left corner at full tilt without hitting it (most of the time, at least). As for the corner jump over the exit switch - I'm pretty sure I had seen an old highscore with this innovation once, but it just made sense to me; it seemed like the logical method, having the shorter descent before dropping, coupled with fact that the 'normal' way is annoying anyway... I don't think I can recall seeing a level with more 0th changes than 17-0 over all of the years I've been playing...

Yeah if you watch with the demo feature. Ska is slower up to the top left corner where he almost ties Eddy, but he is slower because of his start, but he comes off the lp to wj faster than Eddy. At which point they are pretty much tied until going for the exit switch at which point Ska gains frame because of his CJ route and stays in the lead to end.

About the first double-jump I know pretty well its not faster, in fact i used to do it for the same reason as ska (however the drone kept killing me often, so I opted for a generally slower beginning rather than losing time at the very beginning and then going as fast as usual). Obviously any innov you do before a speed-limit part (the drone in this case) has always the mere purpose of making the beginning easier and entering the speed-limit a bit faster (Unless it lets you beat the speed-limit!)

Yeah, I was talking about the whole route. The cj was the common route before, pretty intuitive as ska's noticed. (because of shorter fall, and generally shorter path)

So you think cj route is faster ? Well, ska's cj is perfect, because it doesn't hit the ground of the exit switch. This is the main change over xaelar's old run. And that's the reason I choosed the other route when going for the 0th.

By the way, I didnt remembered eru was in Barcelona :O (my memory isnt anything amazing neither as you can see :P), is it only temporarily or is it a full move? Im in Murcia, 590 Km (366 mi) away

I mentioned it like one year ago, when we were talking about leaving with van'. So it's normal you don't remember. And it is only for one year, study purpose (Erasmus). I am supposed to learn spanish here too. ^^

Edit: Thanks to Raif's 89-4 innovs, I've now tied Analu's Top 20 count with 257 at equal 8th. (I really only used the starting innov kind of.. it's a bitch of a level to highscore, but nowhere near the worst..)

Yeah its true most of the hacked sscores are deleted, this is awesome guys!
They've set up an email so we can send them the hacked scores and usernames of hackers, and they'll verify and delte them! :D
