Hi everyone,
For the past few years, I have enjoyed tying up the year with a podcast or Have Your Say, which is something I'd like to continue this year.
For those who are unsure what a Have Your Say is, essentially it is a series of recordings from several (and as many as possible) different people. Each person can make a recording up to one minute in length, preferably starting by saying your username and then going on to say something amusing, or featuring music, or reflecting on this past year, talking about the year to come... you get the idea.
Check out the Metanet Podcast thread for past podcast and to listen to older Have Your Says.
If you're interested, here's how you can enter your recording:
Create a recording that's around 1 minute in length. Preferably state your username at the beginning.
Email your recording to me (or PM it) - [email protected] and include your username in the email so I will be able to spell it correctly in the Podcast RSS feed.
Note that recording quality doesn't matter.
The deadline for recordings is the 21st of December (2011), which gives you all a little over 2 weeks. I'm going away after the 25th, so I need to have the episode compiled and uploaded before then.
The order of the Have Your Say will depend on the order that recordings are sent in - first in, best dressed. So get going!
Oh, yeah; and reply to this to let me know that you're interested.
Thanks, and I look forward to hearing and compiling all of your recordings!
Lenny

The "have your say" is a great initiative and I look forward to finding it on my iTunes at some point. I don't think I participated in it last year, but I'll certainly try and make an effort this year.

I much appreciate the community effort Lenny. I think it is a great idea to continue this tradition. I have always listened to the podcasts. I hope to submit for the "have your say."

I'll have to think of something important to say before I record, but sure, I'll do it. Should I mention it in the Sunday N?

If you want to, I guess? It might be nice to draw attention to it, if there's some free space, and especially if it could be mentioned once it's completed, that'd be great.
I've emailed Mare and Raigan, so hopefully they'll get a recording together, and also ideally an Xmas photo like they did a few years ago. If they do, I think putting the photo into the Sunday N would be awesome.

Excellent and excellent - thank you also to the above people who have said they will contribute.Purple Hair wrote:Entering this if I have the chance tomorrow.

If you can get recordings in sooner rather than later, that would be great; then they'll be out of your way and it won't turn into a last minute panic.

Thanks for the feedback, and although I've had some minor setbacks, the N should be ready this Sunday.

I could make a fantastic speech about the year I've been through, and how it changed me, but not in one minute :(

I'll probably record something tonight. It'll either be a rant about war, a description of the nonviolent world revolution I hope to bring about in the future, or me doing something music-related.

Also I'll be away from the 19th - 23rd so I'll edit it all as soon as I can and get it up before Xmas. But if your recording isn't sent to me by then then it won't be in.

Not really. We actually get back from Melbourne on the 22nd, which is still the 21st for the US. So if everything is back by the 21st/22nd that would be awesome, so I can edit it all this Friday and possibly even upload it then.メガテリヤキ wrote:The opening post says the 21st. Was this a lie?

For those looking to submit a recording, just a reminder that you've got about 24 hours left. I look forward to hearing some more recordings!
Also thanks to the 7 people who have sent things in thus far.
