I know you're working on getting more stuff added, but what you have at the moment is a terrific start!

I think, (if it's not too difficult), you should implement some form of column structure. My reason for this is fairly straightforward; sometimes I want to sort a list of highscores in descending or ascending order (It doesn't have to be native to NHigh, although that would be a simple, yet brilliant addition. To clarify, by column structure, I mean a column for ranking number, player name, score, difference etc.
I also think it would be also useful to have numerical rankings for largest gap between 0th and 1st etc. Finally, I think if you're going to implement a "19th ranking" or "x ranking", you should make a dialogue box similar to "enter episode and level number" which allows the user to specify a number from 0 to 19 to give a comprehensive listing. While I'm thinking of that. I think it'd be cool to have a formula which assigns 20 points to 0th, 19 points for 1st, 18 for 2nd... all the way to 1 point for 19th. Then, you could sum the points and rank them in descending order. This will give us a more detailed look at our highscorers who are in it for amassing top-20s rather than just 0ths. You could call this "Player Points Ranking" or something to that effect. You could easily chart this data, as well as discerning the average score position of each player (e.g. points / top 20 count where points are inverted for the sake of averages.) Just some ideas ;D

Well, this is difficult (or long). I mean, it will be like one thousand lines, which is excessive. The reason for this is that actually, the program print lines one after another in the window (frame). Separating lines into "columns" is doing something completely different, and a lot more complicated. What I might try to do (well, I already try) is to improve the layout. For example, make imaginary columns for Largest Spread (and similar) rankings so that the difference is aligned ("always at the same place", don't know how to say it)

Also, because the layout is not exactly the same on Windows and Mac, I try not to modify the GUI too much.

I don't understand what you mean. What is the difference between your wish and the actually smallest/largest spread ? A rankings with player as keys, not difference 0th-1st ?

Everything is working awesome. I am so glad you did this Eru. You deserve a community recognition Dronie for this. Or at least fan program, but since you didn't technically make it I don't know if you are eligible, but you should be.

Thanks but I didn't do too much, jg9000's work is great. The basis of his program is really complete and well done, hence easy to modify/adapt.
Moreover, on Windows, both Total Game Score and Unsubmitted top 20 don't work ? Because, if it works, it means I can easily access local .sol runs.
(On mac, everything works)
In case of someone who has lost previous .sol, I'll take the best time between local and top-20 entry. Downloading other scores is really slow...

By numbers, I just meant like how the top 20/0ths lists have the number of each position from 0 to 20. I don't think it would be too difficult to implement...

xela i guess you used the executable version of NHigh. This version hasnt been compiled in .exe format, so you'll need python to use this one. Download here
After download, just install it, and all the python files should be associated with it, so they're opened with python.

Finally got a chance to try this thing out. Do I have to extract all files to the same folder as all my other NHigh stuff?

Also every time I open your program I get this in a separate window

It doesn't affect the program, but it just shows up every time and I can't get rid of it.

Ok, so I added a new BETA version of NHigh (see my first post).

The new BETA contains :
I think all ska requests : points rankings, numerical stuff (if I get it right)
List of non-top-20 scores for every player.
Top-X rankings : you choose 2 ranks, like 0-9 to get a top 10. Or 15-19 to see "bad scores" rankings. Or 2-4 to see how good would lat be if we were ignoring xaelar and van :p

Player's Top-X List : for those who wants a list of personal scores between two specified ranks. Line 10-19 to get the list of non-top scores. 15-19 to get a list of soon-to-be non-top-20 scores.

For Mac User (or people with normal .sol) : you can see the difference between your non-top-20 scores and the latest score of the board. (in Personal Data, NOT Reports)

Also, do not expect anything to be add in the next couple of weeks. I have an exam week, and then going home for Christmas (and I haven't see family/friends since July so...) Then another exam session. So very busy schedule.
And the missing functions are quite complicated : different way to read .sol for windows users and different GUI to show personal total score.

If you have any layout suggestions/corrections (like typo), feel free to ask. I have some time to modify small stuff.

Moreover, I finally finished all of my exams, but I'm going on holidays 10+ days, leaving tomorrow. Yeah, Nhigh isn't progressing much.
However I've already started working on something that allow people to use online scores instead of .sol to perform the same operations (total score, list of non-top-20 scores with diff, most improvable ep). I am trying to get it ready for soon.

eru, something small that shouldn't take much time to fix and is more of an aesthetic thing that I found today. I was looking at the level points rankings, and you don't have it set up to display ties the same way as the original NHigh had it.

Just a simple one. I was thinking since we have episode top-20s why not level top-20s? I would just do what you do for episodes by just having a level... menu that opens to level 0ths and level top-20s.

@Ben : I know you asked for it 10 days ago, but I still don't have an answer. I'm back from holidays, but don't really know how much time I need to include this "online sol" to Nhigh structure.
If you want a new dl version, I can put a version w/o this "online sol" thing. Thus, only with the small changes I added since last time.

@golf : It is supposed to print a '-'. I don't understand why it doesn't.
EDIT : Oh shit, i mispelled a variable...

I noticed something weird append in between but I have no idea why. Well, we have trouble with that for a few years now, I'll try to look at it in the future.


EDIT : I don't know what's going on with the config file. Like now, it's working (I get rid of asking_a). (using Tools->add and type the name)
I have no idea why people like bonzai & co don't show up in my nhighconfig file when the freshly added asking_a does. And I have no bonzai in any rankings... so he must be in some ignore list. I just don't understand how this config works.

I got both the 'ignore' feature failing to save the modified ignore list on NHigh's exit as well as the latest.hs not holding the most recent save. this only happened for both a few days ago. I had to manually edit the config file to fix the ignore list, and save each new download as file different to 'latest.hs' in order to save new downloads.
