I'm still working on mine because I put effort into such things for some reason, but I feel the topic should be here.

That's all of the new albums I listened to this year. I like the top 18, don't like the other 12.

Like always, I haven't heard enough 2011 albums to have a proper and almost definitive list, but oh well.
I actually had to modify the original list to only have one song from each album, for the top tracks.

Top 23 tracks (kind of sorted; this varies a lot within short lapses of time)

1 - Adrift - Dive -- Tycho
2 - Separator - The King of Limbs -- Radiohead
3 - Last Night at the Jetty - Tomboy -- Panda Bear
3 - Michicant - Bon Iver -- Bon Iver
4 - It's Real -Days -- Real Estate
5 - Money - Portamento -- The Drums
7 - Hounds (Feat. Nicole Atkins) - Together -- The Antlers
8 - High Priestess - You Are All I See -- Active Child & Hanging On too, because it's soooo good.
9 - Rises Silent - Dreams Come True -- CANT
10 - You Should Close The Door - Idle Labor -- Craft Spells
11 - Montana - The Year of Hibernation -- Youth Lagoon
12 - Never Look Back - Paradise -- Slow Club
13 - Corinne - English Riviera -- Metronomy
14 - Helplessness Blues - Helplessness Blues -- Fleet Foxes
15 - Constant Now - Keep You Close -- dEUS
16 - Rolled Together - Burst Apart -- The Antlers
17 - I've Been Lost - Chromatic -- You Can't Win, Charlie Brown
18 - I just wanted to make you something beautiful - Chapter 1: Had We Known Better -- Industries of the Blind
19 - Mão na Música - Mútuo Consentimento -- Sérgio Godinho
20 - Then It's White - Looping State of Mind -- The Field
21 - Rockets - Destroyed -- Moby
22 - Santa Fe - The Rip Tide -- Beirut
23 - Get Lost - Bad As Me -- Tom Waits

Top 10 albums (same as top tracks on the sorting

1 - You Are All I See -- Active Child
Image
2 - Dive -- Tycho
Image
3 - Bon Iver -- Bon Iver
Image
4 - Tomboy -- Panda Bear

5 - Days -- Real Estate

6 - Portamento -- The Drums
Image
7 - Burst Apart -- The Antlers
Image
8 - Dreams Come True -- CANT

Can't stress enough how these lists vary over time.

December 2010, IDIOT.

Good calls otherwise though in general. Haven't heard the Mogwai but I sort of assumed it would be as mediocre as Take Care, Take Care, Take Care.

Meh, December's close enough, and they released a live album last year, so whatev'. Yeah, the Mogwai album is actually pretty damn good. I usually woe the vocal tracks on Mogwai albums, but one in particular is too damn catchy to groan over.

Such a good album.

Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will was pretty good but not as awe-inspiring as Mogwai's older stuff

in no particular order

Stephan Mathieu - A Static Place
This Will Destroy You - Tunnel Blanket
Satanik Steaks - Dabbling In The Occult
Prurient - Bermuda Drain
Ólafur Arnalds - Living Room Songs
Mamaleek - Kurdaitcha
Body & Head - Fractured Orgasm
Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto - Summvs
Ulaan Khol - La Catacomb
Veronica Maggio - Satan I Gatan

runner ups

The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble - From The Stairwell
Kammerflimmer Kollektief - Teufelskamin
Terror Bird - Human Culture
UUUUUU - Of The Xerophytic Blooming

Dabbling In The Occult is cool also because it's the first and probably the last net release of Magik Crowbar and I feel very insecure about this list, I never bother to catch up with recent stuff
