Recently I have been eating a lot of cookie dough and my friend told me you can get tapeworms from this. Is this true?

AH GOD I JUST ATE SOME COOKIE DOUGH DON'T TELL ME THAT ;_;

Also, it's more likely to get salmonella from raw cookie dough, but I think there's a very small chance of tapeworm. It'd be minuscule, if anything. In either case, it's still not good for you. I'ma go eat me a roll.

Not a worm. Thousands of worms and worm larvae and worm eggs that can grow up to 30 metres long.

It would seem to me that any tapeworm would die during, you know, the whole blending phase.
Plus, the ingredients for cookie dough are: flour, butter, sugar, eggs. Now, tapeworms don't live in flour or sugar (too dry) or eggs (shell anyone) and I highly doubt there are any in butter (consider its method of production).
In short, you don't have anything to worry about.

Only if you include tapeworm or tapeworm eggs in the recipe. I wouldn't recommend it.

Oh. :(
I wish they did have 30 metre long eggs. Like long wormy cocoons. Much cooler.

It's true -- tapeworms can be incarnated in a stomach simply by combining cookie dough and stomach acid.
That's how God did it, anyway.

Hmm...well, a taste wouldn't do any harm.

I'm guessing this is different than eating cookie dough ice cream, which is just as good IMHO.

As much of a fan I was, I seemed to lost interest after thinking some batter was cookie dough, just to find out it wasn't.
So at least I can say I've been tapeworm free for over 3 years. ;D

First, make some cookie dough, a big bowl, a salad bowl should suffice. Then, get a soup ladle, and enjoy.

It's okay if you get a tapeworm. If you do get one, a solution, I will provide you:
1.) Do not eat anything for as long as you can; the longer, the faster the result.
2.) Lie down flat on your stomach.
3.) Have someone fetch you a bowl of milk.
4.) Place bowl near mouth.
5.) Wait for worm to come out.
6.) Once the worm(s) has(have) revealed themselves, gently grab them and slowly pull them out.

Fin. I hope this helped.
