ska my post was random, just to cause more confusion. mission success
on the other side, you're worrying too much. I mean this isn't some sport which billions of people watch. It's N, you play a level, find a faster route, people are like oh, that's cool, and someone ends up being 0th on that level. You won't be awarded by a price nor anything else. There were many levels which were innovated and the current 0th didn't make any post or reference to the past (xaelar vs dark, me vs xaelar etc). I mean what's the point. But really we were just making fun of you :P

heh, the way I read it, both TRO and van are winding you up! It's a cool innovation ska, in fact it's one of those where you wonder why everyone was doing it the other way in the first place.

I was exacerbating the situation with a very sarcastic tone. It seemed quite comical that both and and Eru both didn't give you credit. Clearly we didn't do that on purpose. I got the tone from your first post that you found it comical as well. "is this some kind of running joke where I don't any credit for my innovations!? D:" I was making it in to a running joke. I even fixed the mistake in my post before I posted what you quoted. I wasn't chastising you. I was making fun of that fact that two people both messed it up, so now it is a running joke. My statement was contradictory on purpose. It made it sound nonsensical, but I said it was "only logical." The joke was meant to be an admittance of a mistake with a little more fun than just me quoting you and saying "Fixed."

I ... just ... wow. I suspect you put a curse on me or something by doing that, but there's no way I can tell. I was 75% sure that glib_jase was inactive. And that nobody would even bother with trying to break the six-way tie.

I don't even know why I play this game anymore. Why do I even bother?

Existential crisis looms.

To be honest though. I was kind of only hanging around here waiting for v2 for a while. But M&R are posting updates lethargically slowly and there's a new wacky theory going on that N releases coincide with Arsenal FC winning trophies, which seems to work for v1.4, v1.3c, v1.2, which suggests that I'm going to be waiting a while. Too long a while, perhaps. Just maybe.

I don't know why I'm trying to make a point of giving each sentence a separate paragraph.

It's such a shame that the rest of the community, i.e. non-highscorers, i.e. non-freaks, are as dead as pre-Cambrian cnidarians. It's like I'm trying to find some incentive to stay here when I don't know whether I'm just not trying hard enough or there simply isn't one. Kind of true that highscores are like the only place that has at least a post a day nowadays.

Another thing that bothers me is that the highscorers are like, in most cases, totally separated from the rest of the community (some exceptions though). Each side pretends the other doesn't exist. I don't get why this happens. I'm rambling now. Sorry about that.

My train of thought goes like this. I don't think that five years and a quarter of a million deaths was a total waste of time. I definitely had fun and learnt a few things along the way. I only slept for 4 hours last night. I need to take a nap right now. That is all I'm saying.

I come here to hang out with a few friends and talk or do something that we all enjoy. If it pains you to play, don't. It is a game that meant for pure enjoyment, but it will be sad to see you go.

I just overtook ^that^ guy on total episode score by improving four random episodes, and broke into the top20. That doesn't count as highscoring.

While it's nothing amazing to me, each player's achievement really depends on their own goals. For instance, I don't make my goal to be the N grandmaster because I know that will never happen. So I set attainable goals such as having an episode score on every episode, getting 70k total time score, overtaking Mr_Lim in 0ths etc..

My post was misinterpreted. When I said "that doesn't count as highscoring" I was referring back to the post I made last week where I said I wasn't highscoring anymore until v2.

I see that whats-his-face sneakily grabbed back a six second total episode score lead over me by improving his episode 4, so I improved my episode 14 by seven seconds.

edit: He improved his 59 while I was doing 14. Now this makes my post look stupid. I don't care anymore.

First off let me apologize for the rankings being so late. I have been swamped his week. Also I missed a few days of updating my nHigh so the 0ths that changed hands multiple times may have errors. Please correct me.

This week the community competed on 17 boards and in total took 25 new 0ths. The community improved the total level score by an impressive 6.675 seconds and the total episode by 6.500 seconds. Along with a few innovations and awesome improvements, this was a week of tie breakers and besting ancient 0ths.

Vankusss (-6) lost two 0ths to Kool, two to Eddy, and one to Swipenet. His alter ego also lost a 0th to swipenet. He did not take any 0ths.

xaelar (-4) lost 01-0 to Kool and 51-1 to Eddy, but he was also tied with 05-2 and 63-4 when Raif broke the ties. He did not take any 0ths.

Eru (-2) lost 77-1 to the return of Gutland and Ep21 to Eddy. He took Ep51 from Eddy, only to lose it back to him. Also he did tie TGM and Lim on 10-3 sadly it was after Kool had already broken the tie.

TGM (-2) lost 53-0 to Eddy and 10-3 to Kool. These were TGM's last two remaining 0ths and thus this mysterious player now says goodbye to the rankings.

Mr_Lim (-2) lost 68-0 to swipenet and was tied on 10-3 when Kool broke the tie.

Hendor (-2) was tied on 05-2 and 53-0. These were Hendor's last two 0ths. This is a sad farewell to an elder highscorer. We hope to see him pop in some time and say "hey."

Ska (-2) was tied on 05-2 and 63-4 when Raif broke both ties.

999_Springs (-2) countdown clock ran out faster than anyone would have thought. After having just entered the 0th rankings, the man with eternal bad luck lost his newest 0th, 96-1, to glib and he was tied on 53-0 when Eddy took the 0th. Hopefully his "retirement" wont last too long and we will see the zapmiester back on the rankings soon.

Clux (-1) appears in the rundown this week for the first time in a very long time. It is rare that it get to say anything about this ancient great. His few remaning 0ths are the hardest to beat and consequently the oldest on the boards. However, this week his oldest, and the board's second oldest, 0th, 05-2, was taken by Raif.

Izzy (-1) lost 22-4 to Eddy. He did not take any 0ths.

J_F (-1) lost his 63-4 to Raif. Johnny has only one remaining 0th that can be beaten, 99-0. However, he will remain forever enshrined on 59-0.

Seifer (-1) was tied on 05-2.

Chouse (-1) was tied on 53-0.

Golfkid (-1) was tied on 05-2. He did not take any 0ths.

Glib (+0) took 96-1 from 999 by .375 seconds and then improved twice for a final lead of .825 seconds. Despite this triumph his first 0th, 05-2, was lost when Raif broke the tie.

Gutland (+1) made his return to highscoring this week after taking a huge chunk of speedrun 0ths. He went after 77-1, one of his old 0ths that Eru had taken by a single frame. He took the 0th in style by simply outpacing Eru at almost every point and securing a .375 lead.

Swipenet (+2) took 68-0 from Lim by six frames. He simply cleaned up the run and came out with the 0th. His other 0th was 02-1 where he conquered Raif's MBD route by going for the three extra gold the current route skips. In doing so he not only beat van by a frame under one second, but he beat kyrX, Goo, and L3X by a large margin. He also took 21-0 from van's alter ego, but lost it soon after to Eddy. We keep seeing impressive things from this highscorer. I hope he decides to join the community soon.

Kool (+3) took four 0ths and lost only one this week. His impressive 0ths this week were responsible for a huge chunk of time being added to the community total level score. In his efforts to go through all 500 levels in order he took three 0ths in the first 11 levels on the boards. He started with 01-0 where he laid down an awesome run beating xaelar by .625 seconds. An awesome improvement by anyone's standard; however, this was not up to the "Kool Standard." He decided to further improve the run to a 1.275 second lead over xaelar's original 0th. His next victim was van's 01-4 where he took the 0th by a decent margin, but again decided to improve further to a very secure .550 second lead. Staying true to going in order, Kool took van's 02-0 by quite a bit, but again in Kool style he improved and got a ridiculous sub-1k AGD. Kool's final 0th was TGM's last. First Kool tied the 0th, but of course that wasn't good enough and he wanted to get in on all of the tie braking Raif was doing and he improve by a frame breaking the 3-way tie. Consequently the fact that Lim was tied put Kool one 0th ahead of Lim in the rankings in to 5th place and nipping at the heels of Ska for a top-5 position. The one 0th he lost was 03-0 to Eddy.

Raif (+4) despite only taking two 0ths and tying two more he was single-handedly responsible for twelve players losing their tied 0ths. Raif began by tying 30-2, 61-3, and 63-4. That wasn't enough for the man because he decided to take 63-4 by a frame breaking a 4-way tie and then improve another fame on what was one of the oldest 0ths on the boards. Next up Raif took down the second oldest 0th on the boards. First he tied 05-2, but then he found the extra frame he got in his MBD a few months ago. This broke the 8-way tie (9 if you include Raif himself.) With these two 0ths and the two tied 0ths Raif enters the 0th rankings for the first time in his history as a highscorer so a huge congratulations to him. Welcome to the rankings.

Eddy (+5) took six 0ths this week, tied one, improved two more, and only lost two. Eddy had six big improvements and two one frame improvements. Eddy laid down big leads on 03-0 where he used an innovation for the end to save over half a second. On 21-0 he saw Swipe's new 0th and went after it. He took it by a small marign, but then improved twice to secure a big lead. On 22-4 he didn't have to employ any innovations he simply outran Izzy and got to the exit .625 seconds faster. On 52-2 he did the same things to van. He outran him at every turn and manged to clean up the run for a nice .475 second lead. On 51-1 Eddy only manged to squeak out a single frame on xaelar, but it was enough for 0th. His final wholly owned 0th this week was 53-0 where, after seeing Raif's MBD and his tie braking rampage these past two weeks, he improved his tied 0th by a frame and broke a 6-way tie and taking TGM's second to last 0th. He also tied 61-3 to further emulate Raif. Finally Eddy took the only two episode 0ths this week, both by huge margins. He took Ep21 from Eru by 3.300 seconds and improved his Ep51 by 3.200 seconds to best Eru who had just retaken it from him. The only two 0ths he lost were his tied 05-2 and his tied 63-4. EDIT: Eddy got 100 total 0ths this week!!! How could I forget to put that in! Huge congratulations to him!!!

Good rundown. Lots of interesting 0th out there and many changes due to Raif's ones. And 1-0 is the most amazing 0th I've seen for a long time. (Kool is making the choice difficult)

Also I did see the bug in nHigh that causes it to count Kool's .975 10-3 and disregard his .000 I just manually edited the rankings for that, but I am glad you fixed that. I look forward to the new version.

Apparently, the nhighconfig issues are OS related. I have absolutely no problem on windows xp. I do have issues on Mac (like right-click -> ignore gives a random error). I have no idea why on windows 7 (or you have vista?), it keeps forgetting new hackers and probably crashes if you add more than 6 names I think. I remember having that kind of issues on Win7, that's actually the reason I stop doing the rankings in September 2010.
And I don't have any copy of Win7/Vista, so I doubt I'll be able to correct. However, I might completely change the way the nhighconfig is stored and see the outcomes on mac (and xp).

PS : I assume that by copy/paste, you mean directly into the nhighconfig file. Which is actually the best thing to do.
EDIT : actually, can you try to open Nhigh w/o the .pyw extension but .py (rename it before) to get a terminal and then add the hackers the way you would like to and tell me if there are any errors. Thx.
EDIT : to change an extension on windows, you apparently need to do it with a terminal and use the "rename" command.
